Hello,
Why do the featured product images appear blurry (especially the text in these images) when they load? I’m using only high resolution images with vector file text, and I have checked the images independently from Joop to ensure that the images and text are of high resolution and should not appear even slightly blurry based on the size that Joop displays.
Please advise, thanks!

Hi Pauline,
Could you by any chance supply me with a URL of a page that shows this issue?
Kind regards,
Kevin

The text and images are all vector. I’ve tried different sizes of images to see it affects the blurriness, but the size does not seem to affect it. Please note, my original question was regarding the featured images, but the same thing is happening with the LayerSlier WP as you can see for yourself in this page link: http://ebmd.ca/wordpress/?page_id=644
Please advise.
Thanks! -

Hi Pauline,
When you’re inserting images using wordpress’ insert media button. What image size ahve you got selected here? If it’s set on any lower than full size, wordpress may take a scaled-down version of your image to display. In certain cases (to fit the area) this image will then be scaled up again, causing blurriness. I think this setting when inserting your media is probably where the blurriness is coming from. (See screenshot)
Kind regards

Hi Kevin,
Okay, so here’s the problem: For the LayerSlider WP which is included in the JOOP theme, I have created the images (using Illustrator then ‘saved for web’ (I’ve even tried images optimized using Photoshop to ensure the dimensions and the file size is as small as possible) at the same size as the size specified for the slider image dimensions (600px x 250px). Now, you are correct that if I were to simply insert the image on a page and select full width, then yes the image is not blurry; however, when dealing with the Layerslider WP ‘full width’ and size options are not given in the media library option panel (I’ve attached a screen shot). The image size that is uploaded is listed in the media library as 600px x 250px so there shouldn’t be any resizing of the images, logically speaking. Interestingly, inserting the image (the same 600px x 250px image) onto a page creates a much smaller image than the size of the slider (600px x 250px) which makes this rather confusing since it seems to indicate that I need to create a larger image for the slider… do you understand what is happening here?
FYI: my plugins and version of WordPress are all up-to-date — in case you are wondering.
Use link to view the problem: http://ebmd.ca/wordpress/?page_id=660Thanks in Advance,
PaulineI’ve attached a screenshot of the media library upload and insert panel.

Hi Pauline,
Can you please update your profile with your purchase code, so that we will see a nice shiny badge 😉

Pauline,
G’Day.
Just a quick comment:
When you enter your ThemeForest purchase code I believe there is an option to make it private, and/or it always remains private. So no-one else will see it. Everyone else in the community has entered their purchase code, etc., and is not visable to other members, so you shouldn’t be worried.
Cheers,Michael.

Hi Michael,
Oh, I didn’t realize I needed to enter the code somewhere. Any chance you can point me in the right direction? I’m looking for where you are referring to right now — no luck, so far. Thanks!!

Pauline,
G’Day again.
If you go to My Account >> My Profile, you will see where you can enter your Envato (Themeforest) purchase code. Then ‘tick’ to make it private and you are good to go.
Oh, and your Envato code is available when you log on to your ThemeForest account, go to the Downloads section and clcik on the download tab against the Joop theme in the list of your purchases. You will have the option to downlaod a text file that will contain this code.
Cheers,Michael.

Hi Pauline,
The size of your images is 600x250px, if you make your images 1180px the blurry will be gone.

Thanks Mike! I’ll try this, but why 1180px…I’ve set the dimensions of the slider to be 600x250px in the settings panel.
Thanks!!!! -

I resized the vector images to suit a 1180px-width … so my guess is that regardless of the dimensions that I set the slider to, the width of the slider (and it’s image width must be 1180px) to avoid the blurriness.
Thanks a ton!!!!!

Hi Anass,
I edited the vector .ai file (scaled the content to 1180px width and 500px height) to fill the screen. Are you scaling the vector file then saving for web (as png)? If you are just resizing the images using Photoshop then you may still have blurriness depending on how much you’ve resized the images and the number of times etc. If you are using photoshop then definitely use the largest original image (to maximize the resolution), and then scale proportionally using Photoshop’s image resizing. Hope this helps! -

The purchase code has already been submitted to your sales@theme-dutch.com email. I am hesitant to post such information here (on a public forum where it will remain until the end of time) because it may be the only information available which verifies my purchase (through Themeforest), and if it has been made public then this may cause future problems. Please check your sales@theme-dutch.com email, or if you could provide me with your email address I could send it directly to you. Thank you!!

Guys and Girl,
Images are not vectors, that’s a massive difference. You are talking about scaling but thats not the way to go, you can not scale your image when your in Illustrator without dropping the quality.
Vectors are perfect for logos and icons but never for images.
Okey I want a image 1180px wide because thats the size of my content.
Open photoshop
create a new file
set sizes: 1180 x650 and 72 dpiOpen your image and drag it into your new file, set it the way you want, adjust colors etc.
save in JPG format, png is great for transparency but the file size is much bigger
