Tagged: Beta Tester, MikMag v3, style.css file
Kevin,
G’Day.
Have loaded the Beta copy of Mikmag v3 on a sub-domain using a HostGator hosting account and have found an issue with the supplied Child theme.
I installed the main Mikmag theme (without activating) and when i loaded the Child theme I received an error message saying that the Child theme was ‘broken’ and could not find the parent theme.
I then installed the parent and child theme on my localHost using Desktop Server and it installed without any error.
So after checking the style.css file of the Child theme I discovered that in the details of the file Line 07 is showing as Template: Mikmag (See attachment)
This is what is/did cause the issue as in wp-content/themes/ the parent theme is named as “mikmag”
As this is a linux server (as most hosting servers are) there is a mismatch of names – the Child theme style.css is looking for its Parent template that starts with a Capital letter.
So I changed the Line 07 Template name to all lower case and the Child theme became active.
The Child theme style.css file will definately have to be changed before the update is released.
Cheers,
Michael.
Thanks Michael,
Well spotted, I’ll get right on having that fixed.
Cheers,
Kevin
