The comment section is part of the main wordpress functionality, here’s how you remove it:

go to the page editor of the page on which you are looking to remove it (in this case, the homepage). Next, open up the screen options in the top right corner of your screen. In there, make sure that the checkbox for discussion has been checked. Once done, scroll down the page options and look for the discussion section. In there, uncheck the checkbox for allow comments and update your page.

You should now be free of comment boxes on that page.
