Hello again 🙂 Are there any known issues with the 2.0 theme and buddypress?
I just realized on my site with the latest version of buddypress 1.7.2 (also beta) that clicking comment buttons just make the page refresh, whereas there should be some ajax action to open a comment drop down. Also trying to post in activity stream results in nothing getting posted.. very odd.
I have deactivated all buddypress related plugins, uninstalled and deleted buddypress a few times now. Just curious if there’s anything we should know.. I’ll be working on it later, we’ll see what I come up with.

Update: using the old Mikmag 1.0 theme, buddypress works. Using the 2.0 theme it’s not working. I mean to say: old data, activity posts and groups are showing, but interacting with them, actually using the BP features is broken.
Still investigating..

I tried uninstalling and dropping all wp_bp related tables from SQL. That hasn’t made any difference when reactivating.
Kevin, can you confirm for me which Buddypress version you are using that works with mikmag 2.0 now?

Mikmag’s store page on themeforest says it supports BP 1.7.2 but has anyone here actually confirmed it’s fully functional?
If I remove add_theme_support( ‘buddypress’ ); from /mikmag/functions.php I can get some functionality back (able to post in activity stream and comment on activity stream items) but the style sheet is default, naturally because of BP compat.
Also trying to go to groups pages themselves just goes right back to the home page.

Hi Justin,
I’ve been able to post a comment on an activity stream but do see some strange things happening.
I’m sending this through to our developers team to take a look at and test.
Thanks for letting us know, if you find anything more with buddypress, would you mind making a little list of things to check, so we’re sure not to miss out on those? (for example edit the 1st post with a little list).
Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks Kevin, could really use a hot fix. Also I would edit my first post, but the edit link is gone (for me).

Initially I mentioned that Mikmag 1.0 theme worked with BP 1.7.2 but I only tested activity stream and commenting on activity stream items. I noticed that trying to navigate to groups and user profiles just resulted in being returned to the front page. Further testing shows this is the case with the BP default theme enabled as well.
We might have a bigger problem here with BP, but if you have any kind of code hot-fix or work around I would greatly appreciate it. I’m dead in the water without a working BP.
If this means that we revert to an earlier version of BP in the meantime I’m fine with that. Previous versions are still available for download at http://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser
But with Mikmag 2.0 theme support changed to accomodate BP 1.7.2 with the way theme compatibility works, which I appreciate but that means earlier BP versions won’t be supported because there are no theme files to fall back on in wp-content/themes/mikmag and as I mentioned, falling back to bp-legacy doesn’t work either.
I know, it’s a mess…
