Just installed Joop. With my previous theme, once I set a featured image, it would display both in single post and on the categories page. Can Joop do this in post categories without having to manually add the image in the content area?
I’m hoping I don’t have to go back and alter all my previous posts.
Thanks

Hi Keni,
JOOP will take the featured image over on post and categories page. -

Hi Mike,
I now know that JOOP will do what I want because I just saw it in your demo (Blog-right sidebar). I found your sample post pages which were installed on my site (thanks, that really helps). However, I’ve not yet found the page that controls the blog layout.
I’ve read the manuel. Until I figure out all the nice bells and whistles of JOOP, can you direct me to the page(s) or additional info.
Thanks

Hi Mike,
I’ve still not gotten the post pages to work. The attached ‘Archive Page.jpg’ is the way I’d like my posts to look. However, ‘Blog Page.jpg’ is what I get. See ‘Page/Post slider.jpg’ for how I’ve set it up.
What am I not doing right?
Thanks,
KeniAttachments:

Hi Keni,
It looks like you need to activate the featured images, see the screenshot for your reference.

Hi Mike,
That has been turned on from beginning. I turned off all plugins. Still didn’t work.

Hi Keni,
I think I might have an idea of what’s going on.
The way you’ve currently set up your blog pages, is that by choosing a “posts page” in your wp-settings/reading and then adding that page to your menu?If so, JOOP uses another way to set up your blog (which allows you to have multiple blog-type pages).
What you’ll want to do to nicely display a blog page is:
– Create a category (posts -> categories), Name it the way you’d like your posts-page to be called.
– Assign all posts you’d like this page to display to be part of the category. This can be done in the post editor page or you can bulk-assign lots of posts to certain categories at once in your “all-posts” overview page by selecting them with the checkboxes and choosing the bulk action “edit”
– Now that you’ve got a category and it contains posts, you can go ahead and add it to your menu. Go to appearance -> menus and under the “categories” tab search for your category, add it to your menu.
– The page will now be visible and should display the posts that are assigned to it.
– You can now customize the category’s appearance by going to appearance -> joop -> categories.Hope that helps,
If not, you’re still welcome to send in that ticket Mike mentioned.
Kind regards,
Kevin -
