Hello. My web designer installed this plugin, and has since quit on our project. I know the basics of how to update a WordPress site, but need some help in easy, non techie language.
I had asked him to set it up whereby you BUY the product, then it takes you to a Registration page. He couldn’t get this to work. He has it set up where you register in Ultimate Member, and then when you submit it takes you to a Product page to buy. But if you don’t buy the product, the account still exists. I have to assume this is not the way the product was designed, because that makes no sense.
Can you please tell me the proper way to configure the UM product so it takes you to a Profile Registrations AFTER you pay?

No your right Thats not the way.
1 they need to buy a umswitcher product.
2 via de settings of Ultimate member you set the profile page So when they login they Will see there profile.Thats in short the best way, I dont have a complete manual by hand. But have a look at the docs of Ultimate member, umswitcher and woocommerce for all details.

Thanks, but this doesn’t answer my question. Can anyone tell me the steps to set it up properly? Or is there a tech support number I can call? I don’t need somebody to do it for me, I just need more help than I can currently find on-line. I’ve read all the documentation I can find on the various plugins involved. I need somebody who can help me figure out how to make them work together.

Our membership website is set up with an Ultimate Member form that populates to a directory and gives access to a Forum. So if a person is going to “buy” the UM-Switcher product to access that membership, he/she also needs to fill out a membership profile. How does buying the product connect the customer to filling out the membership profile? Which do you do first, and then how do I program the site to forcibly prompt the second component? Right now, they can fill out the membership form, but it doesn’t force them to then buy the product. Or they can buy the product, but it doesn’t prompt them to fill out the registration form. Where do a I program the necessary redirect to force the other component, and how do I make it that if they don’t pay, they can’t use the membership?

Dont use the registration form of um. When your clients buy a membership they also create an account But via woocommerce. And Thats fine as um uses the account details.
At the settings of um you can set restrictions, set the profile page as redirect when they login. There are a lot more options there So check them all out.
Check also the community roles, as there you Will also assign restrictions etc.
At the um switcher product be sure to fill in all fields. Here you Will also assign the community role.
Like I Saïd before I dont have a manual for you how to create a full blown membership site. As this is more a job for those with experience in Ultimate member and woocommerce and servers. Yes you also need to add a cronjob at your server.
