I’m really annoyed. Was one of the first buyers of this theme and everything worked fine from the start. My client decided to quit with their new company before the website went live, but I kept the licence because I saw the potential for this theme. Now I see another opportunity to use this theme in a proposal, I can’t get it to work. I need to dress it up before Wednesday… all I need is help to install the dummy content. I followed the steps, including MySQL, but keep getting the ‘page not found’ error when importing the dummy content. Who can help?

Are you running a standard wordpress installation, or is there anything slightly out of the ordinary about the installation, like perhaps it being in a sub-domain, things like that?

Beste Helen, ik heb duidelijk omschreven dat ik het template alleen in ontwikkeling gehad heb voor een klant en de website nooit heb kunnen opleveren. Het template is dus niet elders in gebruik. De licentie heb ik uiteraard behouden, ondanks dat ik het template niet gebruikte en er geen klant voor had. Ik zou het nu graag gebruiken om een voorstel voor een klant te maken, die wat moeilijk kan visualiseren hoe het template er uit zou kunnen zien met zijn content. Ik heb woensdag een afspraak met die klant, op ruim 260 kilometer rijden van mijn kantoor en het zou heel fijn als jullie kunnen helpen te zorgen dat ik voor woensdag het template wat ik gekocht heb kan gebruiken. I shall continue in English, as some might come to this topic with the same issue.
I am aware of our dummy content not importing properly on a sub domain with some of our other themes and I suspect this to be the issue here as well. Proper dummy content importing is something we’re constantly trying to improve but which seems to remain a tricky thing in some cases.
Our dummy content basically consists of some pages that show the use of some of our shortcodes and give an idea of how to work with the theme. With this as a purpose, for the dummy content to be useful (thus for you to get an idea of how to work with the theme) it does not necessarily require to be present on that domain you are working on.
Basically, what I’m getting at is that for the time being I think installing the dummy content on a main domain (can be in a sub-folder, the issue appears to be with the domain not starting with http://www., but <subdomainname>. ). And use that installation as a reference.
If there are any theme functions in particular that you would like help with, for example if you’ve seen something on our demo page http://www.theme-dutch.com/presents/mikmag that you would like to recreate but are having a hard time doing, do feel free to open a topic on the forum and ask your question. I’ll be glad to help.

I’ve added a screenshot of the entire text-editor content of homepage var5. I hope that helps. (it’s pretty large 😛 barely fit my screen).
Also, a little hint, Mikmag has a shortcode generator from where you can generate all its shortcodes. You can access it by clicking the yellow [M] icon above the page/post editor.
