Hello,
I have been looking all throughout the theme’s header and function files and for the life of me cannot find how to change the jquery library from the google hosted one to the one in wp-includes. Also, if I wanted the exact layout of the demo, what are the shortcodes that you used for the front page layout of your demo home for MikeMag?
Thanks

Also, when choosing the layout to the categories, etc, it is not populating to all of the post pages or categories.

Hi Joanice,
I’m afraid code-level support exceeds what we can offer as free support we can only do code-level support for our premium members or as a customization job.
As for the homepage, I’ll just get the most interesting pieces from there.
we’ve got a layer slider on top
followed by a twothird column with a thumbnail slider
After that it’s basically a set of collumns with some headers and icons, images text and buttons.
For the layouts, you can change the layouts of pages, posts and categories separately. In the post options, page options and theme options (appearance -> mikmag -> Categories). Blogs can be set up using post-populated categories.

My client actually purchased this with the theme support (premium for a year) and no matter what We do to try to submit a ticket, it redirects us to the registration page.
And for the layout it does not I have set the layouts and it does not populate to the categories:
See screenshot, this is the option that we chose and it does not populate across the categories, posts, etc.
If you need me to submit the receipt of where she paid for this support I can, or you can fix your ticketing system so we can submit a ticket through there.

Hi Eightgr,
I’ve been able to confirm you as a premium member so no worries there. My appologies for the issues regarding the ticket system. I’ve forwarded this to our programmer for him to take a look at.
Am I correct to guess that you are the same person as Joanice Green (or that she is your client)? Just so I know for sure that the questions she asked are also your questions.
On to the issues.
– Layout, For this one I’d like to take a look at your website, back-end if that would be possible. As the ticketing system is currently down, you could send me the login credentials via e-mail to kevin(a)theme-dutch.com Please do add a link to this topic so I’ll know what the e-mail is about.
– If you are indeed, like joanice, also looking for the jQuery library I’ll ask our programmer about that one to make sure I’m giving you the correct answer.

Joanice Green is working on the site and we have both tried to contact you in reference to this, so yes her questions are my questions, it’s just that when she tried to ask a question it asked her to register too.
Thank you and please let me know if there is a ticket number or anything like that that we can refer too.

Oh yeah, so there are actually a couple of questions we have:
Where we can set the jquery library to the default wordpress instead of the google one, if it is in the code
Why the layout does not appear to change throughout the categories, pages and posts, even though we have it set in the MikMag settings.
I will email you login credentials.
Thanks

Hi both,
That does indeed explain a lot. I’ll go ahead and check on your website, back-end. I’ll also be informing with our developers about the jquery part and will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi again,
I’ll be answering the e-mail here so you can both read and reply if needed.
I went to take a look at your website and things do appear to be working properly layout-wise. What you’ll probably need to consider is the fact that with Mikmag you can set the layout (footers, sidebars etc) for every page, post, category completely seperately. This does mean that you’ll need to select the sidebars (and layout) for every post and page manually in the post/page options.
As for the home page image+description part, I’m guessing you mean like the “the best hotels” part of our demo website’s homepage http://www.theme-dutch.com/presents/mikmag/. I’ve added a screenshot to my post that displays how we’ve done that (combination of shortcodes / code in the post/page editor).
Featured post Plugin – There isn’t really one I can suggest. Mikmag has a featured posts (well category, but you could make a category for those featured posts) slider called thumbnail slider. It’s the one on top of our demo homepage. As far as plugins go, I haven’t used any for this purpose before.
jQuery and Buddypress links – For both these things I’ll be contacting our developers to make sure I can provide you with the right answer so I’ll be getting back on those as soon as I can.

There I am once more 🙂
I can add the response to one of the remaining questions , According to our programmer we are actually using the jQuery file from the WP-includes already. I would guess it’s being called using a standard wordpress function that might not look exactly like how one would call a jQuery library on a non-wordpress website. I believe there are different functions for that in wordpress.
I’ll be back with some more on the buddypress menus as soon as I can, not entirely done with that yet.
