Hello! Came across a few issues with functionality on mobile platform:
1. the dropdown checkout option in the navigation/menu bar: the view cart and checkout buttons don’t work on iphone in the dropdown. (see attachment image.png for non-functioning buttons)
2. there is some overlapping in buddypress area (see attachment 2013-07-08.png)
3. this isn’t a mobile issue, and not sure the source for it, but we have a “facebook comments” plugin added but the comment counter doesn’t show Facebook comments. Does anyone know how to get that to register in the comment counts?
Thanks!

Hi Ioh,
I’ve passed on both 1 and 2 to our developers for them to take a look at and fix, I see what you mean. Thanks for adding the images as well!
As for the third one, I’m afraid I cannot help you as we cannot guarantee full compatibility with all third party plugins simply because of the incredible and ever increasing amount of plugins available.

Any luck on any of these issues? client is mostly upset about this problem (image attached) and would like to either have it fixed or remove it until a solution exists. I don’t see an option to remove it?
the other problem we needed to fix is:
the dropdown checkout option in the navigation/menu bar: the view cart and checkout buttons don’t work on iphone in the dropdown. (see attachment image.png for non-functioning buttons)

Hi iocreative.
It looks like what you are referring to are post titles. Change the post title to two or three curiosity ‘hook words’ depending on length and then have the original title be your first title in your post content.
For example from left to right in your screen capture:
Why You
How I
Happy People Do
Turks & Caicos
Check Out
Your secondary hook is the visual, equally or more important than your curiosity words—use in tandem.
Experiment with your wording, be creative to have it fit uniformly and you will see with the proper image it will increase your click through. It’s an immediate work around to your problem and a better approach.
Position it with your client as generating a greater curiosity factor, which it is. You can show them how the click response increases.
Have fun 🙂

Hi iocreative.
Knock the ball out of the park for your client! They will love you for it.
You can bill for a mobile upgrade for user experience and better SEO.
1) You may want to consider activating the Mikmag page loader, a fancy touch.
2) Consider something like WP Super Cache for snappy page load times.
My favorite is: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-cache/
You have done a great job with the site, looks exciting and vivacious… good vibes!
Be awesome 🙂

Hi Ioh,
I’ll be contacting our programmers to check how progress is. We’ve got a little list of mikmag bugs (also including the titles not being displayed properly in the related items) so I’ll see if I can arrange for them to be fixed within a reasonable timespan.
The slowing factor would be that we’ve got a lot of different themes we’re now updating (or actually, dramatically overhauling) as well as a need to create new themes in order to keep the company moving forward. This and the limited size of our team can cause theme updates to delay a bit.
I’ll be informing for a mikmag update though as we’ve got quite a few things that would be well worth fixing.
Kevin
ps: thanks James, I think that’s some good advice on those post titles, quite often short catchy or at least curiosity-evoking titles can indeed catch one’s attention more than longer titles as people might just not bother reading those.
