I’m creating a MikMag child theme and I have created it to the wp codex recommendations, however, the styling is definitely off a bit. What other files and folders do I need to migrate over to my child theme so I can start customizing?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Kevin,
the child theme might not work. what are the template parts that you would like to have it on your child theme?

@LeNur: Thank you for your response. I need a child theme to work. In order to make my site unique, I’m going to need quite a bit of customization. I can’t possibly redo all of my customizations on the parent theme every time an update is released.
I would like to have everything function correctly on my child theme. I have created buddypress child themes before, and usually there is an ‘assets’ folder or something similar that needs to be moved over to the child theme to get it to function 100% correctly, however, I could not find an ‘assets’ folder in your theme, so I’m assuming that you’ve named it something else according to the way your team designs themes. I’m just trying to figure out what folders/files need to be moved over to the child theme folder to make it function correctly.
I would imagine that theme-dutch.com is using a child theme for MikMag, what files/folders were migrated over to the child theme to make it function correctly here? Thanks in advance, I’m eager to get this project up and running as soon as possible. I appreciate your help.
