Phew! Took me ages to work out that “DASHBOARD” actually means “LOGIN”. And I’m a WordPress Developer!
I see you are still using this ridiculously small font on this forum and the forum is still not accessible on a MacBook Pro Retina Yosemite with Safari browser…
By the way, where is the forum search?
But apart from that and forgive me if this has been asked before but I can’t find it without a search function: Can you PLEASE tell me how to remove the sidebar vertical shadow.
And more importantly, which file do you use for blog posts layout – usually it is single.php but your framework does not use single.php – I need to create a copy of this in order to make a custom events page in All In One Events Calendar.
Oh and when are you making this theme child-theme ready?
You guys made great themes up until about two years ago, but I fear that you are a little behind the eightball with all the competition that is around currently…
I don’t mean to criticise but you need to seriously look at going improving site/service/compatibility.
Thanks,

Hello Louise,
We’ve not received complains about the login part, and a lot of our clients are not WordPress developers like you. Regarding the font, which you think is ridiculously small, we’ve increased it a bit, so you can read it better.
I don’t have a retina Macbook pro by hand, but on our 27 inch Imac with safari we don’t have this problem. But, maybe I misunderstand you. The search function for some strange reason was gone, but its there again.
– Please use firebug to locate the shadow.
– You can create your own single-postname.php or page-pagename.php and place it inside the theme. I’m not sure what the event calendar is using.
– When you take a look at the download file from Themeforest, you will find a child theme.
You say you don’t mean to criticize, but your tone of voice tells something different. Certainly when you say our themes are a behind with all the competition. One of our latest themes is mentioned in the Book ”Best 365 websites 2014 from Awwwards”.
We provide free support, but we do it with much more fun if we are treated a bit more positively.
Best Mike

Thanks for your response Mike and thank you for increasing the font size. Much better. Regarding the login, I guess that’s a UX issue.
I don’t understand the Safari issue – I am able to login after clicking on the direct link to this post in your email. When I visit your site directly I am not able to. Thanks for returning the Search function.
Found the .sidebar style that has the box-shadow. Thank you.
The All In One Event Calendar (Time.ly) is using single-ai1ec_event.php but for some reason it is not pulling in the event page meta data using MikMag. It is simply displaying the information as an ordinary blog post, blog date, author and content instead of event info of dates, venue, location, organiser, Google map, back to calendar etc.. It is OK however, using Twenty Fifteen theme and pulls in all info as it should. See here: http://voxharmony.org.au/wp/event/lms-garage-sale/?instance_id=374. Then go to: http://voxharmony.org.au/wp/calendar/ and expand one of the options.
Here is a page that does display all necessary content of the same calendar (different theme): http://launcestonplayers.com/event/amadeus/?instance_id=300
Thank you for pointing me in the direction of the child theme. I read an old post and couldn’t find it in my 3.1 version of MikMag. Now have the latest.
Yes, Momo may have gotten an Honourable mention, but MikMag is – in my view – sadly lagging behind if you compare it with other major players such as X-theme, Avada and Enfold. As you will see, I am using Aziza for my own web site (wizarddesign.com.au), so it’s not as if I’m not a fan.
All In One Calendar (Time.ly) is – together with The Event Calendar (Tribe) – the most widely used calendar plugin, maybe in your next major update of MikMag you can build in support for this plugin?
Maybe I was indeed criticising and I apologise if that came across too harshly – I was frustrated and felt I had wasted my time trying to look for solutions to make the calendar work with this theme – when it was working before updates of both the theme and the calendar – by the way, I have the calendar working on several other sites with other themes, so I know it is not calendar-related, especially after checking in Twenty Fifteen theme.
I am also checking on the Time.ly forum for a solution to this, but they have pointed it back to the theme developers…. 🙁
Understand my frustration?
Best,
Louise

Any further assistance with this, please?
Thank you,

Louise,
Mikmak is not ready for The Event Calendar as you know, and we don’t have plans at this point to add support for it. Even if other themes works will not say that Mikmak will.

For anyone else struggling with compatibility between MikMag and All-In-One Event Calendar plugin (NOT the The Event Calendar plugin), and you are using/have upgraded to MikMag version 3+, deactivate your “tds shortcodes” plugin and your AI1 Calendar pages will work again. You can still use the old shortcodes of MikMag version 2+, just use the same codes without the “tds-” in front of it.
Since MikMag introduced it’s own shortcodes plugin, the compatibility broke.
I am still using MikMag 3.3, just not the tds shortcodes plugin and all is fine.
Hope this helps someone else.
Cheers,
Louise
