can’t get any joy with your sliders! the nivo slider doesn’t advance. tried no time setting, 200, 2000, 3000, etc. This is the site for the previous post as well regarding the layer slider:

if it’s the layers not working, not coming in, then the cause might be only having one slide in the slider. If you do have multiple slides, the problem would probably be a jQuery conflict, perhaps with a plugin on your website.

Kevin, G’Day.
I am having the same issue as Chris.
I have set up a brand new site, without any Plugins installed, and just the one Nivo Slider with six images. There is nothing else on the site with just the one Page as the Home Page.
The link is: http://crosfitfire2.webdesignbypacificwings.com
I would appreciate any other suggestions that you might have.
Cheers,

I’m also having the slider issue. I disabled all plugins and the problem persists…
BTW, Windycityfella, that link you posted doesn’t work…

Yes, have been fiddling around with the Nivo Slider on the MikMag site and still no luck.
Oh, and yes my spelling was incorrect of the URL.
The site I am developing is http://crossfitfire2.webdesignbypacificwings.com/homeCheers,

Hi Chris,
The nivo slider doesn’t advance…
If you mean that the nivo slider is not playing auto, thats correct we did developed it this way. Our idea was if you want more features in your slider just use the layer slider. But I can see this as a update item, are there more members that will have this feature?

HI Mike;
Well, yes the auto advance is important. especially because the responsive feature is very important to us, and the Nivo slider is the only one that sizes properly.
Thx.

MIke, G’Day.
I would like to add my vote (strongly) for the auto advance feature to be (re)installeld in the Nivo Slider with he next update of this theme.
I have used the Nivo Slider with a number of other themes and sites and the auto advance, and all other features, have always been available.
Thanks in anticipation.

G’Day All.
For those who want the Nivo Slider to auto advance, and can’t wait for the anticipated update, you can go into the php code and change the option.
So.
Access the theme files via your cPanel backend/ftp.
Using the File Manager go to the wp-content/themes/mikmag/includes sub-directory
Find the slider-nivo.php file and use the Edit function to access it.
Navigate to line 167
Change the line manualAdvance:true to manualAdvance;false
Save the changes.
Done !Hey, I’m not a coder, but I was able to effect the change, so anyone/everyone should be able to do it.
Cheers,

That’s what I’m talkin’ about! Why wait for an update when a simple edit will do the trick? Thanks for posting, Windycityfella! 🙂

Cool, I’ll make note of it as well. I’ve already had to switch to a different theme with one that works though; hopefully i can recoup what i paid for this one with another client.
