Home › Forums › Mikmag WordPress theme › Not displaying tags, catogaries or date in list of posts
Hi Guys n Girls
How can I ‘turn off’ displaying tag, categories and dat in the list produced using the display posts short code?
It does not look pretty when you have a few and I don’t need this info on the front page. And besides, showing them make the magazine look un-professional.
And we don’t want that do we.
You can see what I mean on

Hope you can help,
Mark
Hi Mark,
Since either wanting the data to show or not is really something that depends on a person’s preference (I for example do like to see the date on which something was posted to know if I’m reading somthing recent) we made a checkbox to turn it on or off.
Just head to appearance -> mikmag and I believe it’s the very first option you see in the general settings ” display blog meta”. Uncheck that and it should be gone.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for coming back so quickly.
That setting was one I had already deselected since I started with the theme.
Just to be sure after reading your reply, I selected it and refreshed then deselected again and refreshed – but in either position I get meta data displayed. In fact if you visited that page at all during the last 24 hours you would have seen them grinning away at you.
Do you have any other suggestions that a novice like me can try?
Thanks again,
Mark
Hi Mark,
It appears that this function is properly removing the meta data from the post itself. However, several other displays of the post (excertpt) mostly to link towards it, like shortcodes and blog overviews keep their meta data or publishing dates.
I will be pointing this out in the to-do list for our upcoming Mikmag update so the developers can review this and solve the issue if this is indeed a bug, not a choice.
