My latest post basic slider is great and all but a user has no control of it. I want them to have control going back or forward. I just tried setting up the NIVO slider because I feel it would suit better for a homepage content slider and i cant get it to work, i just dont think its designed to work as a latest post. Basically I go to homepage and assign to use NIVO slider, then I went to mikmag cateogory, changed a whole post category to nivo slider and nothing appears. Its like the nivo slider only works if I go to sliders and load up content from there that doesnt change on a latest post basis. I see the basic slider has an option for what categories to display. In a bit of a pickle here.. just want things to be right / be appealing to my users,
I’m afraid that the latest posts slider is indeed the only slider that uses posts to fill its content. NIVO is a regular image slider that doesn’t pull posts to display. We do have a shortcode that display latest posts, in which users do have controls. This isn’t a slider like the other ones but you might be able to find a use for it. You’ll find it under the special shortcodes.
Yeah I’m running that also for something else, its ok, not really a big fan since it seems to stop at bad points when you hover over it. My users cant slide when they want to is a big problem imo. If something passes they have to wait for all the other news to come around before they can click it. Ugh! Isn’t there a way to integrate the NIVO with the latest post in the style sheet
There is probably not a real quick way to do this since it is very likely to require a lot of code alterations as well as testing (crossbrowser) eventually responsive testing and debugging of it all. That would be quite a theme customization.
