Hi Theme Dutch
How do i add icons to widget titles in mikmag 3 please?
I can add icons code to menu display names, but this method does work for widget titles.
Also the td-categories widget has a “display icons” option, how does this work please.
I cannot find anything in the documentation covering the use of icons outside of page content.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Gailstorm
Hi Gail,
I do not believe the widgets support icons. The exception would indeed be the themedutch-categories widget. Adding the icons to this one is quite easy (once you know where to look).
First you want to check the checkbox for “display icons”
Next, you want to go to appearance -> mikmag -> categories. Go to the specific categories that you are going to show using this widget and look for the “thumbnail” option. Upload your thumbnail there and it will display.
What’s a little confusing, I must admit, is the fact that it’s called thumbnail here, rather than icon. I will leave a note with our development team to check these names for the next update, see if they can change it into something more coherent. But that should be how you can add the icons (as shown in our 3rd footer column on http://www.theme-dutch.com/presents/mikmag/
Kind regards,
Kevin
Hi Gail,
I would like to post a correction to my prior reply.
Adding widget title icons is indeed possible in Mikmag3.0 I notice that I was checking our old demo-website. The new theme (as the demo indeed showcases) allows for icons to be used in the widget title. It is fairly simple. You can use the TD-shortcode to add this icon like so:
[tds-icon name=fa-shopping-cart] Mikmag Sale!
For a full list of icons and their shortcodes, you can check the shortcode generator inside a page/post editor.
Sorry for my incorrect initial response.
Kind regards,
Kevin
