Dear Mikmag team,
I purchased Mikmag theme and want to use a thumbnail slider exactly as the one used in the demo ( on the home page ).
The manual is very very shot in explanation about that, quite difficult to understand what to do with the generated code:

– where to choose the picture to be used ?
– what is the meaning ofnumber="20"? number of picture to be shown ?
– what is the meaning ofwords="10"? number of words to be shown ?
– how to associate text with the pictures and how to have the “read more” effect linking to another page ?And last question, about the testimonial page : I would like to do same thing as the demo, with a photo, a text and an button “check profile”, but I didn’t found anything about that in the manual. I was thinking it was a mikmag theme feature when buying, right ? How to do in order to obtain the same result ?

So what this shortcode does is, it takes categories (those you assigned, or all of your categories if you assigned “all”). From these categories it will show the latest posts that they contain. The image you see will be the post’s featured image and the tekst is the first part of the post’s text. The read more button will direct you towards that post itself.
so. You want to make a category, add posts to that and make sure the posts all have their featured images set.
Then you can use the shortcode and fill category=”” with either the category name or “all”. And it will make a slider out of those posts.Number=”” is indeed to specify the amount of posts to show.
As for Words=”” I must say I’m not sure at this moment. I think it used to be for the amount of words displayed but that doesn’t seem to change much right now. I’ll have our development team look at that one.As for the testimonials. This page was built from a combination of some of our shortcodes, rather than one shortcode.
I’ve added a screenshot that displays how our code looks for this.If anything remains unclear, please feel free to ask.

I understand your concerns about the documentation (especially for the shortcodes part). If there’s anything more, for example that you’re seeing on our demo, but are having trouble achieving. Feel free to ask.
By the way, for future requests, could you please verify your purchase with us by adding your envato (themeforest) purchase code to your theme-dutch.com profile information (my account -> my profile -> edit profile -> envato purchase code). That way we can verify you as a customer. We normally don’t provide support until after the account has been verified. In this case I completely missed the fact that you’re not yet verified :).

Hmm, the code somehow doesn’t appear to properly match. Normally when a code does match you should automatically get a green envato badge showing under your name. Could you perhaps check your license file to make sure you’ve got the right code? it should follow a certain pattern with dashes in it (somewhat like this xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx )
You get the license file from themeforest.com, under your account -> downloads ->download ->license file and purchase code.
