I am trying to create a page to kind of house the blog posts from a specific category. I would like them to to be sorted by the very first post in the category, but the only options I see in the demo are these:
[latestposts title=”Random Posts” category=”_name” number=”10″ orderyby=”random”]
[latestposts title=”Popular Posts” category=”_name” number=”10″ display=”popular”]
[latestposts title=”Latest Posts” category=”_name” number=”10″ orderby=”latest”]
Is there a way to sort by ascending or descending? I tried “asc” and “desc” in the options, but that did not work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -

Ok, so I’ve got another question, now that I am looking at customizing some things on my own blog. What are the shortcodes to do things such as hiding the category, tags, comments, and author in this shortcode:
[blogposts title=”Blog Title” category=”category here” number=”1″ words=”23″ orderby=”latest” image=”large”]

Hi,
You can actually just display the categories straight away by adding them to your menu in appearance -> menus. No need for a page to do that.
The meta data can be turned off in the theme options appearance ->mikmag

Hi Kevin, thank you for the response. Here is an example of what I would like to do: On this page – have the blog posts start off with the first one in the series and then continue downward – http://treasuring-christ.org/cross-of-christ/
I’d like the Introduction post to be the first one, then part one, part two, and so on. Hope that makes sense?

I understand that,
The one problem is that the latest posts functions display the latest posts first and then the older posts. This order is irreversible from the wp-admin controls. What you could do is trick this system by changing the post date to manually order the posts by selecting a newer date for the first post and an older date for the posts coming after that one.
