Home › Forums › Mikmag WordPress theme › Woocommerce checkout fields – optional fields that are not used are printing
In woocommerce, when the user checks out, they have two optional fields: “company” and “address 2”. Even though people have leaving these fields blank, they still appear on all invoices (email and printed), shipping notes etc etc.
I thought it might have been a woocommerce issue, but I have just done a vanilla installation with the twenty twelve them and woocommerce, and woocommerce does not print these fields if they have not been filled out by the user.
I have attached two example invoices – please refer to the address block to see what I mean. Page one is a print of the invoice from Mikmag, and page two is a vanilla installation print out.
Hi Rebecca,
The pdf is displaying delivery notes, and this is not a standard feature of woocommerce but a plugin. ( we don’t support third party plugins.) But I tried WooCommerce Delivery Notes by David Decker and it works fine as you see on my pdf below. So maybe this is a option for you.
It is not just the delivery notes though – the email invoices that customers get (as a standard from woocommerce) also have these extra fields showing
Hi Rebecca,
I’m not sure why this is happing at your end, but the woocommerce standard: email invoice is working correctly. So there must be something with your installation…. Maybe a stupid question but do you have the latest version of woocommerce.
The attachment shows the email a client will get when you hit Email invoice.
Please let me now what the problem was,
Mike
If you look at your own attachment above – in the Billing Address there is a field that says “Address 2 (Optional)” – that is the field I am trying to remove from the invoice…
I have not found a solution to this as yet
