Hi! I just can´t place any image for any of the slider types. I tried with the nivo, then with the slideshow. I can place html code in the html block and it displays it correctly, but as I try to place the image, click the blue folder icon, select the image from the library and then click “Insert into post”, nothing happens. I have no plugins installed. I had 3.6.1 WP version and didn´t work. Upgraded to 3.7 and stil don´t. Plese help!
    Regard,
    Andrés.

    Hi Andres,

That’s quite strange.. Are you able to use this functionality on a page? Get the media library up and insert an image there?

I don’t quite remember seeing this issue in the Notime theme before

    Kind regards,

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

thanks for your quick reply. As said, I can create a new slideshow slider, add a new slide, click the blue folder icon to insert an image, then the media library comes up, select a picture from it (I have tried with different sizes) and click “Insert into post”. The media library then closes and nothing happens: I see no image previev where the blue folder icon was and when I save the changes, the image does not appear in the slider as I refresh the page. Curious is that the HTML blocks are working. I guess because they have noting to do with the slider. So the rest of the functionalities like speed and so are working, but not the part corresponding to the picture.

    Best regards,
    Andrés.

And yes, I am able to place images on pages through the media library.

    Hi Andres,

Thanks for the additional information, I’ve been checking our demo website and I appear to still be able to create new sliders there so it doesn’t look like anything was broken in an update and then not discovered until now.

Is there any chance you could send me the URL of your website as well as the login information for an admin account to kevin(a)theme-dutch.com? I’d like to take a look back-end, see if I can find anything strange.

Preferably also link to this topic in your e-mail, so I’ll know what it’s about.

    Kind regards,

    Kevin

    Hi Andres,

I’ve gone and taken a shot at it and I was very surprised to see that I was able to add the images without any difficulties.

Here’s what I’ve done (I expect you’ve done exactly this yourself though):

    -Logged in

    - Went to appearance -> notime -> sliders

-opened the edit menu for the existing home slider

    - Clicked the blue icon in front of the first slide

    - Opened the first image, scrolled down and clicked insert into post

    - Did the same for the second slider, with the second image

    - Saved changes

    - Checked out the homepage.

Somehow it appears to be working just fine for me. I think this might somehow be some kind of browser incompatibility. I’m using a Windows 7 + Google Chrome setup, what are you using?

    Kind regards,

    Kevin

PS: I absolutely love those quotes you’ve got showing in the slider

    Hi Kevin,

saw your changes. I tried first at home: imac with snow leopard and Firefox. Then with the pc laptop windows 7 professional SP1 with Firefox and Internet Explorer. Just don´t work. I did the same steps, there is no other way to place images there. Maybe I can try the beta version of NoTime you are using in the your web? I running out of ideas :(
Thank you very much again for your support. Appreciate it a lot.
A thanks for the compliment about the quotes :-)
    Andrés.

Dowloaded and installed Chrome. Nothing. Tried to put an image in the pattern section, but still cannot.

    Hi Andres,

I will send you our current version by e-mail. I’ve gone and had a chat with one of our developers and he’s as clueless as I am on this one. The fact that on the same installation, something does work for me on my computer but not for you on yours just doesn’t make any sense.

The slider does still use an older version of the image uploader than the page/posts uploader as that’s the new one (3.7) being called by wordpress and the slider uploader is being called by the theme and that’s till the 3.6 one so that might explain why you are able to upload to the pages/posts and not the slider. The part that doesn’t make sense though, is that I was able to add slides where you weren’t…

Anyways, lets first try our current version of notime.

    Kind regards,

    Kevin

    Hello again Kevin,

So astonished am I too after trying it on three different computers with completely different OS and browsers. If you say me to go back to WP 3.6.1, I will do it again, but I didn´t work there, so I decided to upgrade to 3.7.

The point about the image uploader is right, they are different, but you were able to upload pictures into the slider…

Want some more fun? Have a look at the attachment, how the pictures you placed looked on my imac: very low quality. If you watch them on a pc, they look normal.

I am more than thankful for all your kind support. Will keep you posted as I receive the theme.

    Best from Berlin,
    Andrés.

    Hey Kevin,

it works!! I have completely ALL removed: WP folders, databases, everything. Run a new & fresh (again) WP 3.7 installation and uploaded your last theme. Create new slideshow slider and placed images: woilá, it works, placing a wide smile in my face.

The point is we have learnt very few from this issue, why did that happen but at least it works…

Thanks again for all your support and keep doing such a good job.

    Andrés.

    Hey Kevin again,

    FYI

I know what happened. I had no “URL Link” set to the pictures. If you click “Link URL” and “None”, which I normally do in my websites, the image is not showing!!! That was the single point here why it was not working, the URL link must point to the image, even when it is not going to be downloaded… I think this should be in the documentation.

    Best regards,
    Andrés.

    Hi Andres,

Great! I’m happy to see you got it working.

I had indeed not thought of that part being saved differently across different computers somehow. Good job at finding that! I’ll make sure to pass this on.

    Kind regards,

    Kevin
