I already posted re the fact that with MikMag 2.0 my transparent logo now has a box shadow border but I see now that this problem exists for a lot of my images that include links to other files and are intended to have transparent backgrounds or even where they have a white background but they are intended to merge seamlessly into the background.
This would not be a problem if I did not also need to link these images to larger versions for example - but they all look odd with box-shadows everywhere now!
Unless this can be fixed so that only featured images for example and banner ads have these borders, then I will be forced to remove this box shadow from ALL images which I am reluctant to do.
Can anyone offer a CSS tweak that would achieve this please?
Regards

10/05/2013 at 8:06 PM #11571I’ve notified our developers of the box shadows. I agree this isn’t really something one would like having around all linked images.
12/05/2013 at 3:21 PM #11609Hi Guys.
Having the option of a shadow with a image border or not to shadow in short codes will work or leave them off entirely.
Gail here is a quick workaround. I use site side notes to keep track of changes as the next update will undo any modifications. Keep a copy of the style.css as backup for any changes.
I really like Notepad++, great free program.
I have not tried to child theme this yet.
Work Around
1) open mikmag2/style.css
2) line 306 you will see:
box-shadow: 0 0 8px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.25);
3) change to:
box-shadow: 0 0 0px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.25);
4) save style.css
Voila

Yes I had seen where the line 293 in the CSS so was aware this is where the box shadow was being added but wasn’t sure how I could simply stop it showing on my logo - but then realised it was more extensive than that as it added the shadow to all images with a link.
Anyway I have now used your suggested workaround as other images - especially those with a white background anyway - looked odd with shadows on my site. I am sure on other sites it may not be an issue.
On the question of shadows though I also see the page shadow around the page (boxed version) has now disappeared whereas MikMag 1.3 had a box shadow all around the complete page (with the exception of the header area). The new version has a shadow around the footer only - but not the body - not sure why that is. I only noticed this when i used a light colour background image on one particular page. I will post this separately as well as it is really a different issue to the box-shadow issue.
Meantime thanks again Jame for your help here.
