Screen’s feature to provide every page with a custom sidebar gives you full control over every
aspect of your website. Give the sidebar you make an appropriate name and go to Appearance > Widgets. You’ll see the sidebar you just made. Fill it with the widgets you want in the sidebar. Then go to the page where
you want them to appear and select the option.

In James wp theme you can select the sidebar at a page / PAGE ATTRIBUTES / TEMPLATE

ok - it started working finally - i am a bit frustrated that I cannot add the sidebar to ALL posts ... it is nice to do it per page or post, but when you have LOTS of posts.... to manually add them on each one?!
