I know there are two similar questions related to this topic but didn’t want to hijack those posts …
I am trying to work out how data from UM-Switcher and UM works with WC. Please excuse my lack of WooCommerce and UM-Switcher knowledge and understanding, first time use for both.
So I have created three products, Premium, Basic and Trial (Basic). A visitor selects one of those, lets say Basic. What information is then used to purchase the product? Is that information then applied to their profile/registration?
Just so I am clear how this works … after creating a product on WooCommerce for UM-Switcher. Potential subscribers select the subscription they want, they then go through the process to purchase a subscription and are then (via setting it up for url redirect) go to their profile page or do they need to go to the register page?
This is based on the two step process that was suggested in the other post https://theme-dutch.com/topic/how-does-a-new-member-sign-up/
While the two step process will work a better one step process would be far better and less confusing to prospective subscribers.
It would be better for the potential subscriber to fill in the default registration form (for all memberships) and when they submit it goes to the payment process to pay for the subscription, only once paid does the registration complete and get added to the system.

No problem GregW let me explain.

The information for the purchase is controlled by WC, by default it will need invoice address, Phone number etc. This information will not be included on their public UM profile by default. As you want to keep this private. This info is available via the WC my account page.
When the order is completed, they are registered so redirect to a UM register form is not necessary. WC + UM makes use of the same login details.

Easy, you create a WC coupon code and you will have several options to restrict the use of it. So set the coupon to use only once and voila.

I know this is more a WC question but maybe you can help me quicker than the WC support 🙂
Do I apply the trial to an existing product or to a new product?
If I have a product that is an annual membership, how do I add a coupon to that product but only for a 3 month trial. After which when that expires the member can select either the Membership they wish to continue with
Or do I need to create a new Trial only product?
