hello,
when you create a page, there is a button (add shortcodes) where there is a list with the shortcode options.
in the page (on http://theme-dutch.compresents/joop/) “shop 3 columns layout”, there is a shortcode that is not listed in “addshortcodes”: [product_category]
[product_category category=”category1″ per_page=”9″ columns=”3″ orderby=”date” order=”desc”]
Are there more shortcodes for WooCommerce?
thanks

Hi Vincent,
You’re able to change the part of the shortcode: columns=”3″ into “2”,”4″,.. manually.
Thanks,

Hi Vicent,
I think this might not be in the TD-shortcodes generator because the generator is actually a plugin, also meant for non-woocommerce themes. On those using this shortcode might not end up looking quite how you’d want it.
I understand you did manage to get this shortcode working the way you like and if I understand your question properly you’re looking to know if there are other woocommerce-related shortcodes in the JOOP theme that you do not see in your shortcode generator.
I’ll go ahead and check on that with our developers.
Kind regards,
Kevin

Hi Vicent,
I’ve gone and checked it with our developers.
The actual reason behind this is that the [product_category] shortcode is not oen of our shortcodes (not from the theme, nor from the plugin). Its actually a shortcode by woocommerce themselves.
So there may be some more of these available but you’ll want to search the woocommerce pages for that or click the little purple “woo” icon on that’s on the first toolbar of your post/page eidtor.
Hope this helps
Kind regards,
Kevin

following your instructions, i’ve seen that there is a shortcode from woocommerce to do what i want: [product_categories]. when i apply this shortcode, it’s shown what i want but no in the same structure as “shop 3 columns layout”.
is it possible to get a similar structure for this shortcode?
many many thanks

Hi Vicent,
Here’s the exact shortcode we’re using on this page: http://theme-dutch.compresents/joop/shop-3-column-layout/
[product_category category=”sell-concept” per_page=”9″ columns=”3″ orderby=”date” order=”desc”]
Could that be what you’re looking for?
Kind regards,
Kevin

yes, yes, i know what is the code for “shop 3 columns layout”…
if you create a new page with the other shortcode [product_categories number=”9″ parent=”0″ columns=”3″ orderby=”date” order=”desc”] (this shortcode shows all the categories, no products), you can see what i say… there is shown only 1 column and the image haven’t the effects of “shop 3 columns layout”…
how get in this case ([product_categories]) the same layout as “shop 3 columns layout” ([product_category])?
thanks

i tthink, the control of this case is the content-product_cat.php file… and make it as content-product.php, but my knowledge of php are very very basic…

Hi Vicent,
I see that I misread the difference between both the shortcodes in my previous post.
I’ve gona ahead and checked what you really did mean and I see what you meant by the different layout you get.
I’m afraid though that the theme doesn’t offer a different way of displaying your categories. What you could try doing (I’ve not tested if this works but I think it might) in order to have some sort of grid shape back, is perhaps address your categories shortcode within columns.
I’m not extremely familiar with woocommerce’s shortcodes though, not sure if you can choose the categories to show by ID or something like that. but it could be worth a shot.
Kind regards,
Kevin
