Hi Lauren,
While in the homepage area, scroll down to the page options (Freeze options in particular). You’ll be able to select it in a dropdown there.
I’ll add a screenshot to my post for you to show.
Kind regards,
Kevin
05/12/2013 at 11:01 AM #13426Hi Deyo,
It does indeed mean that Freeze is currently not compatible with WP3.7.1 | It is currently compatible with 3.5.1
It does not yet mean it will be closed down like Mizzo was. We’re planning to close down two more of our older themes shortly but they don’t include Freeze. As far as I know there are currently no solid plans for a big Freeze update (Freeze 2.0 with added features and support of the current wordpress version), however there are no plans to “discontinue” it either.
Kind Regards,
Kevin
04/12/2013 at 8:09 PM #13419Hi Kevin,
Does your comments above regarding updates mean Freeze isn’t ready currently for the latest version of WP? and will it be going the way of Mizzo?
regards,
Deyo
03/12/2013 at 10:09 AM #13395Hi Lauren,
That’s great!
If you are making a homepage, using a regular static page (settings -> reading -> front page displays). you can just go ahead and create the slider in appearance -> freeze -> sliders and then add it to the page you’ve selected for your static homepage in its page options.
If you are displaying “latest posts” (settings -> reading -> front page displays). There is currently no option to select a slider for that type of homepage.
Kind regards,
Kevin
27/11/2013 at 3:52 PM #13319Hi,
It could be that you’ve got the latest version. However, If you’d like to test this I’d be happy to send you the current version by e-mail. Just send me an e-mail to kevin(a)theme-dutch.com and I’ll send you the current version.
As for the avatar, I must say I’m not sure. I know some of the functionalities have been disabled a while ago after we’ve had some issues with spammers. It could be that the avatar functionality is one of the things that got affected by that.
@Lauren Ryan
The theme is indeed currently built for 3.5.1. I can’t quite give a proper estimate on a date for an update. The last time we made a shift between themes we would keep developing and themes we would pull from sales and no longer update (based on revenue, potential and viability) the freeze theme did come through as one we’d keep working on. Freeze is currently not one of our high priority themes though so it’s fairly hard to tell when a potential update to the current wordpress version would be done.
Kind regards,
Kevin
26/11/2013 at 9:31 PM #13311Hi Kevin,
Version of Freeze: 1.2 Downloaded on October 1, 2013
Version of wordpress: 3.7.1 - Most up to date stable release. Based on your feedback above, Freeze is incompatible with this version of WordPress. When will this be updated?
Have we tried it with plug ins disabled? There are no active plugins at this timeLauren
26/11/2013 at 3:54 PM #13306Kevin.
G’Day again.
The only version of Freeze that I have is the Beta version which I tested initially for you. I do have the older versions of WordPress and could test the latest version of Freeze against WordPress v3.5.1 if you wanted to drop it into my access section.
Cheers,
Michael.
ps. I have been looking to change my Avatar here but can’t seem to find the area on the site. Any clues ?
26/11/2013 at 3:39 PM #13304Hi Dacia,
Thanks for the information. The developer who will be checking the Freeze theme was ill today, but even though I don’t have any specific update on the situation, I did want to let you know that I got your post ok.
I will be checking back with the developer when he gets back from his illness and will update this topic accordingly.
Kind regards,
Kevin
EDIT: @windycityfella
Freeze is currently still 3.5.1 compatible and has not (yet) been updated to work with 3.7.1 so staying back on this older version of wordpress is probably the best way to go for now.
Actually, have you still got freeze running on an older wordpress as well somewhere, and if so are you experiencing these problems? My main reason for asking is the fact that I can’t appear to recreate this issue on our test site so I’m kind of wondering if it is present for many others
26/11/2013 at 3:38 PM #13303Dacia.
G’Day.
Why are you using WordPress v3.5 ? Shouldn’t you be using WordPress v3.7.1 ?
I was a Beta Tester for Freeze, but as yet haven’t been given access to the latest version to test (although I believed that this was part of being a Beta Tester). If, and when I do, I can test it for you and see what the issue might be.
Cheers,
Michael.
26/11/2013 at 5:54 AM #13285Yes I have tried deactivating all plugins - that did not help at all. I have even tried removing all my plugin as well. It is not a plugin issue. I am using WordPress 3.5.2 and Freeze Version 1.2.
I have also tried using Freeze 1.0 with WP 3.5 - same problem.
21/11/2013 at 11:08 AM #13234Hi Dacia and Lauren,
I had a little chat with our developers on this.
I’m looking to have some more information on this so we’ve got a bit more context. As the topic is already fairly old. could you give me some details on your current setup:
- What version of freeze
- What version of wordpress
- Have you tried it with all plugins disabled
As we aren’t having these issues on our website. Knowing this information for both of you could be helpful for is in terms of attempting to recreate the issue.
The issue itself very much resembles something going wrong with jQuery. It could be possible that a host setting is making this all happen or perhaps the host doesn’t support the right versions of jQuery. I’m hoping our developers might be able to get an idea of the possibilities on that side of things when I give them some more information on the setups you both have going on.
Kind regards,
Kevin

Hi John,
Yeah I noticed there is a slight difference between how we used to handle these images in our older themes (screen) and how we now do it (freeze, mikmag, etc). Good to hear that was the issue though. Nothing too major.
Good luck with setting up the rest of your website!
Kevin
13/09/2013 at 9:41 PM #12726In reply to: No Image Thumbnail on blog post
Hi, Kevin.
Perhaps I’ve misunderstood how this works.
I would like it to eventually look like the posts exemplified here:
http://theme-dutch.com/presents/freeze/category/blog-sidebar-right/
With Screen, it would simply make a thumbnail version of the first image in the blog post, and then have that thumbnail and a short excerpt of the post’s text. Is Freeze handling this a different way?
Any direction would be appreciated!
-John10/09/2013 at 10:25 PM #12706Topic: No Image Thumbnail on blog post
in forum Freeze WordPress ThemeHi, Kevin.
I am currently using the Freeze theme and am not able to get the post thumbnails to show up on my blog category page. The posts are displayed with their titles and the page icon in the upper right corner…but no thumbnail image for the posts.
A bit of history:
I had the same issue when I was using the Screen theme, but the developer eventually had to log in and tweak the code (Ticket:003357). The Screen theme worked fine once the code was modified, however, when I switched to Freeze, it broke again.
Any ideas how I can fix this one?
Cheers,
-John29/05/2013 at 4:09 PM #11785Hi Robert,
This specific update is only for Freeze.
