Hi there,
I have problem with “add slide” button. It does not work at all.
I tried with WP3.4 and WP3.2. The same problem at both. Nothing happens after click on it
In result I can’t add any pictures at Appearance>James>Home…
What is interesting when I place dummy content it works as a examples and in James Home area there are three examples of pictures. I can’t add anything new or delete any of this one which already appeared automaticly.
It started to be little bit annoying. it is not my first experience with WP themes but first time with such a problems at the very begining.
Does anyone can help me with this ?
Thanks
16/10/2012 at 2:17 PM #8743I’ve noticed that after activated James theme, arrows in menu on left does not work. (In WP administration panel)
To see menu it has to be double clicked.
“Add slide” button still doesn’t work…
17/10/2012 at 3:22 PM #8751Since you don’t respond on support issues via e-mail I would like to be sure that your support department will get this info. Please find below copy of e-mail to Helen:
Dear Helen,
Thank you for your answer.
I understand the way how your support works. The thing is that I don’t have a problem with instalation. The problem is that your product simply doesn’t work as it should.
I have done everything according to instructions. I tried to do that on WP 3.4 WP 3.2 and even WP3.0. On Mac and on PC. I don’t use any plugins.
“ADD SLIDE” button doesn’t work at all !
I do not expect that someone will install your product for me. What I expect is that someone will tell me what might caused that your product doesn’t work despite the installation according to the instructions. Instruction from manual which is written by you.
It is not a question of money. It is a question of rulez. You sell the product with manual and I believe that this is everything what I need to pay to work with your product. I will not pay a single cent for further information about that what is missing in manual.
Again: I did everything according to manual. I tried to work with different WP. I tried to work with different hardwere.
As I wrote it on forum. It is not my first experience with WP themes but it is a first time when I met with such a bad support.
I expect that someone will tell me what caused that this button doesn’t work.
Thank you in advance for serious treatment
18/10/2012 at 11:54 AM #8767Hi Michal,
This sounds like a back-end jQuery conflict with a plugin. Do you have any plugins installed? If so, you’ll want to try and disable those for a moment, see if that solves it and if it does re-enable them one by one to find which one of them is conflicting with the theme.

do you read what I wrote in my previous message ?
It is written there very clearly that I don’t use any plugins…

24/10/2012 at 9:33 AM #8826Hi,
It appears that I have indeed missed out on that detail in your posts. Have you by any chance made any changes to the theme’s code?
I would like to suggest you to try a clean install of the theme, to ensure there are no missing files / corrupted files.
Download a fresh version of the theme from themeforest (once purchased, it can be re-downloaded for free) Now continue to your FTP where you’ll want to remove the currently installed version of James (or re-name it instead, for backup purposes). Once done, upload the freshly downloaded theme.
It can sometimes happen that files get corrupted in downloads or uploads, this is to double check that everything is fine in your theme-files.

Thank you for your answer.
Answering your first question: No - I did not make any changes to the theme’s code.
I’ve download them from themeforest 3 times. I’ve made the whole instalation process at least 6 times.
I’ve tried everthing on mac and on PC. with WP 3.0, 3.2 and 3.4.
The problem is the same: HOME panel on James doesn’t work as it should.- ADD or DELETE SLIDE button doesnt’ work.
I’ve made everything according to the manual.
What else might caused that problem ?
Is this a first situation like this ?
Can you fix that problem with premium support and if yes how much time do you need for that ?
come on… people…. I have wasted a lot of time…
29/10/2012 at 1:31 PM #8874Hi,
this is indeed the first time we encounter any such problem (normally this happens due to a plugin conflict, hence my initial response). Since we are not sure what is causing this, it is a bit difficult to foresee how long it would take us to find and fix this problem. With premium support I will be able to put one of our programmers on the case, they might be more successful at pinpointing and fixing the issue for you.
With kind regards,
Kevin
29/10/2012 at 10:32 PM #8879Dear Kevin,
Since you are not sure that you will solve the problem I will not decide for premium support.
“Might be” is not enough !
Again: I’ve made everything according to the manual. Since is not working and you don’t know why, I will not pay you more to help you develop your product.
I’m not able to use your product so I want my money back. How can we solved that ? I hope that you will respect my decision and the case ends smoothly. I wasted a lot time and energy. I am completely unsatisfied and I want to move on but without you.
Kind regards
Michal Siergiejewicz
30/10/2012 at 9:01 AM #8884Hello M. Siergiejewicz,
There is no refund policy for WordPress themes, sold via Themeforest.
This theme has been sold over 750 times before and it works successfully with other clients.31/10/2012 at 6:46 PM #8891Michal…I had a very similar problem due to my WP install being in a subfolder instead of the root, which yours is as well. I have a topic regarding it in the MikMag forum titled “Cannot Create Slides in Sliders”. I would bet your problem is the same or similar.
It took me hours to diagnose but in the end was a relatively simple fix. Hopefully TD will help you out and/or implement the change. If not, feel free to message me and I’ll take a look at it for you since I know how frustrating it is.
01/11/2012 at 10:47 AM #8892Hi Curt,
Thanks for help !
Actually it was my first idea. At the begining I’ve tried to put my new website with James in a subfolder:
so it was like: www.domain.com/jamestest
When the problems started I’ve tried all over again with root directory on new domain, like: www.jamestest.com
It doesn’t help in my case. The problem still exist.
01/11/2012 at 1:23 PM #8901Dear ThemeDutch team,
Could you please point out where I can find information that James Theme requires Smart SEO plug in ?
Ofcourse the problem can be solved without Smart SEO but it is realy uncool, that you don’t say a word about that…
MS
03/11/2012 at 4:36 PM #8919Hi Michal Siergiejewicz,
The SmartSEO module has been integrated with the theme since Update 29-06-2011, as stated on the themeforest updates list, but can be ignored if not needed. The theme does not actually require use of the module in order to function. It will also work if you uncheck the SEOmodule’s options and just ignore the thing.
