Yes I have tried deactivating all plugins - that did not help at all. I have even tried removing all my plugin as well. It is not a plugin issue. I am using WordPress 3.5.2 and Freeze Version 1.2.

I have also tried using Freeze 1.0 with WP 3.5 - same problem.

    Dacia.

    G’Day.

Why are you using WordPress v3.5 ? Shouldn’t you be using WordPress v3.7.1 ?

I was a Beta Tester for Freeze, but as yet haven’t been given access to the latest version to test (although I believed that this was part of being a Beta Tester). If, and when I do, I can test it for you and see what the issue might be.

    Cheers,

    Michael.

    Hi Dacia,

Thanks for the information. The developer who will be checking the Freeze theme was ill today, but even though I don’t have any specific update on the situation, I did want to let you know that I got your post ok.

I will be checking back with the developer when he gets back from his illness and will update this topic accordingly.

    Kind regards,

    Kevin

    EDIT: @windycityfella

Freeze is currently still 3.5.1 compatible and has not (yet) been updated to work with 3.7.1 so staying back on this older version of wordpress is probably the best way to go for now.

Actually, have you still got freeze running on an older wordpress as well somewhere, and if so are you experiencing these problems? My main reason for asking is the fact that I can’t appear to recreate this issue on our test site so I’m kind of wondering if it is present for many others

    Kevin.

    G’Day again.

The only version of Freeze that I have is the Beta version which I tested initially for you. I do have the older versions of WordPress and could test the latest version of Freeze against WordPress v3.5.1 if you wanted to drop it into my access section.

    Cheers,

    Michael.

ps. I have been looking to change my Avatar here but can’t seem to find the area on the site. Any clues ?

    Hi Kevin,

Version of Freeze: 1.2 Downloaded on October 1, 2013
Version of wordpress: 3.7.1 - Most up to date stable release. Based on your feedback above, Freeze is incompatible with this version of WordPress. When will this be updated?

Have we tried it with plug ins disabled? There are no active plugins at this time

    Hi,

    @windycityfella

It could be that you’ve got the latest version. However, If you’d like to test this I’d be happy to send you the current version by e-mail. Just send me an e-mail to kevin(a)theme-dutch.com and I’ll send you the current version.

As for the avatar, I must say I’m not sure. I know some of the functionalities have been disabled a while ago after we’ve had some issues with spammers. It could be that the avatar functionality is one of the things that got affected by that.

    @Lauren Ryan

The theme is indeed currently built for 3.5.1. I can’t quite give a proper estimate on a date for an update. The last time we made a shift between themes we would keep developing and themes we would pull from sales and no longer update (based on revenue, potential and viability) the freeze theme did come through as one we’d keep working on. Freeze is currently not one of our high priority themes though so it’s fairly hard to tell when a potential update to the current wordpress version would be done.

    Kind regards,

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

I downgraded to 3.5.1 and can now make sliders! Thank you for your help.

Can you please let me know how I can insert a slider on the homepage? I can see the thumbnail slider in the shortcodes section - but am at a loss for how to get the homepage slideshow set up.

    Thanks a bunch!

    Hi Lauren,

    That’s great!

If you are making a homepage, using a regular static page (settings -> reading -> front page displays). you can just go ahead and create the slider in appearance -> freeze -> sliders and then add it to the page you’ve selected for your static homepage in its page options.

If you are displaying “latest posts” (settings -> reading -> front page displays). There is currently no option to select a slider for that type of homepage.

    Kind regards,

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

Does your comments above regarding updates mean Freeze isn’t ready currently for the latest version of WP? and will it be going the way of Mizzo?

    regards,

    Deyo

    Hi Deyo,

It does indeed mean that Freeze is currently not compatible with WP3.7.1 | It is currently compatible with 3.5.1

It does not yet mean it will be closed down like Mizzo was. We’re planning to close down two more of our older themes shortly but they don’t include Freeze. As far as I know there are currently no solid plans for a big Freeze update (Freeze 2.0 with added features and support of the current wordpress version), however there are no plans to “discontinue” it either.

    Kind Regards,

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin!

“add it to the page you’ve selected for your static homepage in its page options.” This is the step I can’t seem to figure out. Should I be looking for this while I am in the Home Page in the pages area or should I be looking for this in the sliders area?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi Lauren,

While in the homepage area, scroll down to the page options (Freeze options in particular). You’ll be able to select it in a dropdown there.

I’ll add a screenshot to my post for you to show.

    Kind regards,

    Kevin

    Kevin,

G’Day and apologies for not getting back to you earlier re testing the latest version of Freeze v1.2 against WordPress v3.5.1, but unfortunately I had to go interstate last week and didn’t have much time to devote to the testing. However, I have done some over the past couple of days with the following observations.

The link to see some of the testing is at: http://tdfreeze.pillarsofsuccess.org

I have been able to create and include the various Sliders on Pages and Posts without any issues, however there appears to be an issue when displaying the Latest Posts slider. The issue is that the image and content areas do not play nicely and appear to be justified left and justified right, accordingly, leaving a blank space in the middle of the slider. The examples can be seen here: http://tdfreeze.pillarsofsuccess.org/our-latest-postings/ I have tried different sized images, either length or height, and these is no change to the issue.

On a separate issue, I note your comments above re the updating of this theme - my vote is that it be updated - and if you are collecting ideas for improvements, I would liek to suggest that with the sliders included with the theme that the shortcodes for each of the sliders created be available so that a developer can place them in a Post/Page within the content rather than only having them at the beginning.

    Cheers,

    Michael.

    Hi Michael,

Thank you so much for testing this for us. It’s very strange to me that we have one person with issues on this where nobody else is experiencing them. We’ve gone over the code a lot of times in the past to find anything odd but did not find anything that might be causing this. I think it’s got to be something on the server that doesn’t allow this to work properly. Not sure what it could be though, could be anything from jQuery versions to other restrictions.

Thanks as well for your other input. I will make sure to note it down for our development team to take a look at when/if we do indeed pursue an update. If so, I’m fairly sure you’ll hear about it as a beta tester. Though I’m not the one who manages that or decides whether we’ll set up the beta tests for a certain update :) .

    Cheers,

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your helpful picture! Unfortunately, the only feature that appears below the page is “Freeze SEO Basic.” There are no “Freeze Options” showing up. Do you know why this could be?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Lauren
