Hello,
when adding an article to the blog (http://mototires.gr/category/blog/) even though i add a featured image, its not visible on the above page.
Is there a way to make the feature image visible at the article listing ?Thanks in advance,
Kostas29/10/2012 at 12:44 PM #8866Hi Kostas,
The fact that you are getting a broken link on an image that is being resized, using a resizing script so it will fit into the container, makes me believe the problem might be in the permission rights for your uploads folder. You’ll want to check those on your FTP server to see whether or not the uploaded images are allowed to be accessed correctly.

30/10/2012 at 8:37 AM #8882Hello Kevin,
My uploads folder has 755 permissions. Even if i change this to 775 i still can’t get the featured image to show.
Thank you30/10/2012 at 8:41 AM #8883Also, a reminder. When i first installed the theme one of you guys had to install dummy content for me as the button under settings was just messing up things and didn’t install anything. Hope this helps a bit.
01/11/2012 at 12:47 PM #8896Hi,
The thing is that the image is currently only not working because it is being called by a resizer script. When inspecting your code, and only grabbing the actual image link, I am properly able to see that image, meaning that it was indeed uploaded as it should.
Have you tried a 777 permission on the uploads folder (and on what’s in there)?
01/11/2012 at 1:20 PM #8900I just did and it still not working.
Inside the folder there are pictures of products, some other pictures and widget folders.
Do you want me to send you an administrator account so you can login and check ?
Thank you,
Kostas.05/11/2012 at 3:31 PM #8930Hi Kostas,
I frankly don’t expect it to be something in the wp-admin area but more likely something in the FTP somewhere.
If the permission values don’t change anything, there might be a chance that something is wrong within your version of the theme that’s causing this. To test whether or not this is the problem, you can download a fresh version of the theme. Remove the currently installed version (or rename it for backup purposes) and install the freshly downloaded version. It sometimes happens that in process of down/uploading and working with files, some of the files get corrupted. Installing a fresh version solves those problems.

16/11/2012 at 12:18 PM #9092I redownloaded the theme, installed it but i am still having the same issue.
I am also interested in an alternative way to display my blog efficiently if this issue is causing you trouble.
21/11/2012 at 5:46 PM #9235I am fairly certain that it can’t really be a bug in the theme, since on our demo and testing sites it does appear to work properly,
If it is a problem in the wp-admin panel (incorrect setup or anything like that), a premium support account could be a nice opportunity for you, as I’ll then be able to go and check your admin panel if you’d like. Compare it to what we are doing and try to find what might be going wrong.
Other than that, I am fairly clueless on how to find out what’s happening.

22/11/2012 at 9:53 AM #9238For the theme that you had to install the dummy content manually, because each time i would press the install button it would just mess the installation, you tell me that you are “fairly” certain it can’t really be a bug.
Your solution then would be to buy a (at lowest) a three-month support subscription. (which i don’t see how it would be a good opportunity for me)
How about you log in to the wp-admin panel and have a look. If it’s something wp-admin related i can pay you for the time you spent solving this issue (and not for three month subscription, which i really don’t need and it isn’t an opportunity at all) or you can tell me for sure what’s wrong and i can fix it.
If it’s not something wp-admin related and it’s a bug, you can identify the issue and fix it for your other clients as well, which would be a very good opportunity for you guys, as you will have more satisfying customers!Thank you,
Kostas22/11/2012 at 12:36 PM #9242Hi Kostas,
I’ve read your comments here at the blog. We are running the Free forums voluntarily every day and help as much customers for free, if we can help them right away. Apparently your problem can not be solved through the forum looking at the posts above. If you switch from Free support to Premium Support and are willing to pay $59,- you’re problem will be solved within 1-12 hours by one of our developers. If another issue will come up within the next 3 months, you’ll get direct support as well.
We are customer friendly, but if helping out costs us more than you actually had to pay for the theme, we need to charge a fee.The only thing we do not support is bugs that are caused throug third party plugins.
Regards,
Helen -
