Hi, I have a problem with the Firebird theme displaying a number at the top of blog post pages. In the case of http://www.rwpbasstuition.co.uk it’s on the ‘News’ page and the ‘Commercial Work’ page - all other pages work fine. (The other pages are setup as pages, whereas News and Commercial Work are actually categories of a blog post).

I hope someone can help me get rid of these numbers.

    Cheers

How exactly have you set up those categories? Did you create them in posts->categories and then assign posts to them by checking the checkboxes??

It’s fairly odd since this doesn’t appear to be happening for our categories in our demo…

    Hi Kevin,
Thanks for taking a look at this for me. To answer both your questions the answer is yep - posts->categories and checked the boxes.
Would you like a username and password to go into the site and have a better look (if that helps)?
    Cheers

    Hi Ramon,

I think that would probably be a good idea. As of now I’m fairly clueless where this can be coming from, it would sure be worth looking at. I’ll be looking for a message with the details.

    Hi,

I’ve taken a quick little look and don’t see anything wrong with your setup. I did however see another odd thing, in the back end. category settings, add layer at the very top right corner, that’s not supposed to be there.

Could you try the following please:

-Download a fresh version of the FireBird theme

-Remove (or rename, for backup purposes) the currently installed version of the theme

    -Install the freshly downloaded version

I’m thinking some of your theme files might be corrupt, installing a fresh version would be a way of checking whether or not this theme version you’ve got contains corrupted files

Thanks Kevin, I’m doing that now - I also noticed the Add Media button didn’t work anymore too (weird).

I’ll let you know when it’s re-installed, after I’ve downloaded it from themeforest again.

    Hi Kevin,
Gave it a fresh install and the problem has gone! Works perfectly now.
Thanks again - who’d have thought it’d be so simple to fix, but I’m glad it is.
    Cheers
