HI,

1) I do not see anything weird when I check our demo page http://www.theme-dutch.com/presents/thebasics/ in my freshly downloaded version of firefox. Do you see the same problem you are having on your demo?

2) The comments are a standard wordpress function, you can turn them off by going to the page editor for the page you have selected as your home. There, at the top right corner click on screen options. Make sure the checkbox for discussion is checked. Now scroll down your page options until you hit the discussion section. There uncheck the box for allow comments.

3) The slider will display any content filled out in the overlay boxes in your slider options as soon as the slider contains multiple slides. If only one slide is inserted, the slider script will not be loaded to prevent unnecessary loading time, and the image will be shown as a static image.

For question 4 and 5, I would either need to help you add theme code in the theme files (4) or make a more detailed and specific explanation (5). I’m afraid this exceeds what I can offer as free support. A premium support account would be required for help on this.
