Hello- I have a question about the slider function for the Firebird theme. The slider done’t seem to function properly on my posts page. I currently have 8 published posts.
From settings>reading I have set Front Page displays a static page.
The Front page is set to “home” and the Posts page is set to “wod-blog”.
The slider works fine on all the other pages just not the post page.I created another post page “blog” and set Posts to “blog” when I did this my posts appear on the “blog” page as expected and then the slider starts working on “wod-blog” but no posts.
Additionally, I tried to add my slider images to the “blog” page and I got the same results. The sider doesn’t function. Please help.
Also, I cycled on/off all my plugins and this didn’t result in any changed behavior.
Attached are some screen shots.
Please help thanks.- This topic was modified 7 months, 1 week ago by Joe Arnett.

In Firebird, to make a blog we use categories instead of post pages. What you want to do is create a category that you’ll name “blog” under posts -> categories. Next assign all posts you want to add to this blog, to be part of the blog category, by going to their post editors and checking the checkboxes that add them to the category.
Now once this category contains some blog posts, you want to go to the category setup in appearance -> Firebird. In there, you can select your category to show up as a blog, displaying posts and you can also add a header slider to it.
Last thing you will probably want to do is add the category to your menu, by going to appearance -> menus and adding it there.
