Can’t seem to get the video background to work on my site. I’ve tried different sizes and formats and they’re all self hosted but it never loads up. http://www.tengerdesign.com

    Hi Matthew,

I’ve currently got a .mp4 running on one of my test-pages, I’ve added a screenshot from my page options for you to see how I did that.

    Did you try mp4 format?

Also, what sort of page are you trying to get it on? regular post/page, shop page, anything special?

The page is just the home page with no content posting or page info. I have not tried an .mp4 yet but your screen shot looks different than what I have on my backend. The option to show content is not an option on my version.

Kevin - I don’t have a “loop” option on my page. Any idea why not?

    Hi Rodrigo,

Have you downloaded the latest version from themeforest? What you could do is download a fresh version and replace the currently installed theme with that one to see whether that changes or not.

I have an .mp4 file as the background video now and it still doesn’t work.

    Hi Matthew,

Have you tried what I suggested Rodrigo to do earlier in this post?

I’ve redownloaded the file from Themeforest a few times and just redid it again but I’m not having any luck.

    Hi Matthew

I took a look at your source code and there appears to be a problem with the link you inserter (check the screenshot for what I mean). It misses the H of Http, that might be the problem.

I just checked this and the H is properly inserted in there. The full link is http://www.tengerdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/tengervideo2.mp4 and its accurately placed.

    HI Matthew

We’ve noticed a slight difference between our current version of the theme and themeforest’s current version.

As we’ve got an update coming up in not too long, we have decided not to go through the whole updating process with this fix as that will only delay everything.

What I’d like to do is try and install the version we’ve currently got to your website for you.

Now these differences in theme files are not said to have effect on your current problem but they just might, which is why I’d like to try this. If you’d like me to try this aswell, could you please supply me with the data I’ll need to properly upload and change the theme to your website

    |FTP login data and wp-admin data|

I’ll make sure to keep a backup of the current theme, so don’t worry about that.

You can send me the info using this forum’s private messaging function by clicking my name on the left of this post and sending me a private message from there. Preferably, in the message refer to this topic (a URL would work) so I’ll know what the message is about.
