Hi Guys:
For the next 3.6 update it would be nice to have the ability to backup all sliders or introduce a hook for a third party option such as Revolution Slider etc. for they have the ability to export settings.
It will be an awesome option.
Thanks,
James
Hi James,
So basically you’d be looking for a way to export all your sliders (incl settings, links to images, overlay texts etc)? And then after that a possibility to import that in a different or the same wp/mikmag installation.
I wonder if this would be included in the export with the standard WP database exporting method. Not sure how they are being saved to be honest.
Kevin
Hi Kevin, from my experience they are not included in the xml file for export. It would be nice have the ability to back it up in case one breaks the site aside from the db backup.
I think the wp_options.sql would address that as well… Mmmmm, that thought just occurred to me.
I was thinking along the lines of Revolution Slider exporting the settings etc. in a text file. The images would require a separate backup.
Food for thought.
Have a great day
James
Hi James,
If they aren’t backed up right now I see your point.
I’ll share your thought with our development team so they can check it out.
Thanks,
Kevin
