Hi again,
I have activated a sidebar called BLOG for the blog page of charlesalexiou.com, - http://charlesalexiou.com/blogpage/ - and chosen the sidebar options on the page: wide sidebar to the right. I have selected a custom sidebar I created, and saved the page. However, the blog page continues to display full width. I have read the NoTime manual carefully, and don’t understand why this is happening. I did test the page using a sidebar that came with the site, Default Right, and couldn’t get that to display either; it was still full width
I was able to use the Default Right sidebar on http://charlesalexiou.com/interior-design/ without any issues at all.
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Sabrina

How have you set up the blog page?
Notime was created for blogs set up using a category (which will then be populated with posts). You can add sidebars to the category in the theme options | Appearance -> Notime -> Categories

07/06/2013 at 8:48 AM #11927Hi Kevin,
I had set up all three categories to display using a wide right sidebar and ‘Default right’ in the Categories theme options in NoTime.
I have set up the blog page to display a wide right sidebar with the “Default Right” sidebar.
So… what you’re saying is that the blog page should draw from a single category rather than a blog page drawing all categories? If I try that, and add a single category to the menu, that works. We will go with that in that case. I’m curious as to why the general blog page didn’t accept the sidebar though,
Cheers

So for the one that did not work. you were using a “page” as the base for where the categories would display, correct?
I believe all of our themes have been built to work with categories to display blogs, not pages. Now I wouldn’t know exactly why a page wouldn’t work automatically, as a page without blogging does work but I expect that pages with blogging setup are built up differently then a regular page causing it to miss out on the sidebar somehow.

How did you get the “Simplicity is a state of mind” to display above the blog posts on your blog page
http://theme-dutch.com/presents/notime/category/blog/
which is a category? Would love to do that on http://www.charlesalexiou.com but as the menu simply pulls a category rather than a page, it won’t work.
thanks

26/07/2013 at 7:27 AM #12378Hi again - resolved this. scrolled down in the Category options and saw there was an option for a slogan block.
