    Hi Keith,

I’m back at trying this one out one more time!
I have a few questions regarding the issue of “submenus” ( did not see another thread)

    1) It looks like the James Theme supports two menus. What does that mean? A main menu and a submenu? I don’t understand that “Select which menu appears in each location” means. How do you “select” - and where could the “second” menu go? I created one but it’s not showing anywhere. Bascially I’d like to know what I can do with these “two” menus. The ideal ofcourse is to have a button on the main menu that has a drop down menu where you can access different pages related to to that button. Like a button for “stories” and then you can pick different stories. Is this possible in the James theme?

    2) What about the “side bar”. Can I use that as a submenu? It would make sense. But I don’t see where or how? Is it possible?

    thanks! and tot ziens

    Hi Rodrigo,

If you take a look at our demo at http://theme-dutch.com/presents/james/ you can see these two menus.

The first menu is the one bottom left, then as you look further to the right (in the same bar) you’ll see the copyright mark and after that you’ll see the second (smaller) menu. Adding a menu to that main one will get you the one on the left, adding to the second menu will get you the one on the right.

Creating a sub-menu is done by going to appearance -> menus, where your menus should be set up and simply dragging one menu item onto another menu item. This will make that menu item a sub-menu of the other and will be shown by that menu-item shifting slightly to the right (see screenshot).

    I hope that makes sense.

Thanks - got it. Can’t say I find it the most useful feature (for me) - but I get.

In terms of using the sidebar as a sub-menu - as I was trying to populate a sidebar after activating a sidebar plugin I just could not “drag and drop” any of the options. The php script seemed frozen. So, I poked around the web and found that google libraries plug in worked to freeze it BUT it disables the “background” image feature of the site!!!! That’s crazy. Now I have to activate/deactivate all the friggin time. Do you have a more “organic” solution to the “freezing” of the “drag and drop” capability?

And where can I change the font size of the lists that appear on the “sidebar” - right now they appear tiny. I don’t see anywhere in the code where it mentions what kind of font size is being applied to the sidebar. Should I just change h6 to 20px in the global settings? If not - where is it in the code?

    Thanks

    thanks!

    Hi Rodrigo,

The drag and drop freezing sounds like a jQuery conflict between a plugin and the theme. as for these font sizes. I’m not sure which font the sidebar will take, as it’s not part of the theme, but it could be the h6 (or any of the other options). Then changing the corresponding one would indeed solve the problem.
