Kudos to ThemeDutch for a masterful production. Nicely polished and refined.

Currently working with 3.6-beta2-24237 and Mikmag 2 is functioning flawlessly with the exception of tweaks previously mentioned herein.

Noticed some third party plugins created anomalies with WordPress 3.6, which in no part is a Mikmag 2 issue, rather that of the plugin author. It is to be expected with plugins not current with WordPress versions or poorly written.

Deactivated all plugins, including those considered “cool” and not necessary and reactivating the ‘primary core plugins’ one at a time for reassessment.

No anomalies with WordPress 3.6 Beta experienced with core plugins from proven mainstream authors. Mikmag 2 is rock solid. You have done a masterful job with the extremely complex ‘code engine’. Tweaks are to be expected and a normal evolutionary process.

Mikmag 2 is truly a powerful, feature rich platform, clearly ahead of the curve.

    Great work team!

    Onwards and upwards…

    James,

    G’Day.

    Thanks for your assessment.

Can you list the Plugins that you have been working with so that us other Beta Testers don’t have to reinvent the wheel.

    Thanks.

    Michael.

    Hi Michael

I must confess to being a poster child for plugins, talk about the little kid in the candy store saying “wow” to all of the goodies, looking around at all of the treats with eyes the size of a harvest moon.

Yes, I started with 79 in my plugin folder. I indiscriminately activated my favorites about 40, I don’t recall exactly how many as it was check the boxes with mass activation.

Long story short, menus and important functions disappeared from the WP side bar and WYSIWYG editor. Not good.

Deactivated all plugins, reset the db, activated the Mikmag 2 theme, and installed what I consider the core plugins most important to me.

    Installed

    WooCommerce
    Business Directory
    Business Hours
    Cleverness To-Do-List
    CMS Tree Page View
    Contact Form 7
    Contact Form DB
    Really Simple CAPTCHA

    Dashboard Side Notes
    Sidebar & Widget Manager
Widget Data - Setting Import/Export Plugin
    WordPress Database Reset
    WordPress Importer
    W125
    Add to home screen WP
    TinyMCE Advanced
    Hello Dolly

    Pending

    Jetpack
    WP-DB Manager
    WP Super Cache
    Back WPup
    Better WP Security
    Get The Image
    WP-PageNavi
    Share Drafts Publicy (original spelling)

    Considering

    Revolution Slider
    Hide My WP
    White Label Branding

    Conclusion

Mikmag 2 is an advanced platform using code pushing the developmental envelop. Option rich in its own right with almost infinite configurations, the minimal plugins the better. More times than enough, theme authors are blamed for symptoms created by third party plugins introducing “ghosts in the machine code”, thus creating a cascade of issues or causing the sky to fall entirely. We have all had broken sites from one plugin “upgrade”.

That’s my story and I am sticking to it! :)

    Have an awesome weekend.

    James
