I am having issues with MOWO not displaying images correctly using Chrome. They are getting cut off where only a small portion of the image is showing. Is there a fix for this? I am viewing the site http://www.maconmarques.com/#section-home.

I’ve tried taking a look at your website in three different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, internet explorer) and do not see any difference between the three.
However, Here’s what I believe is going on.
The image you’ve uploaded is in a portrait orientation, where most screens the website will be viewed from will be landscape oriented. Because of this, the container for your image will be very likely to be of landscape orientation as well.
Now what the full screen image function does is, it sizes up your image until it fits over the full width (and height, if I am not mistaken) of the container. In order not to distort the image, it is scaled equally much in height as well as width. If the height does fill the entire container, but the width does not, it will continue scaling the entire image up until the width does fit, because otherwise it would not be full screen. With different screensizes, you will virtually always be missing some portion of the image. However, on a portrait oriented source image, this will be quite a bit more drastic than on a landscape oriented source image.
I hope that makes sense..
Kind regards,

Is that what you meant to say? I have my screen almost square.
Thank you. - Zev

Thanks for pointing that out, seems I had mistyped that. What I had meant to say was this:
However, on a portrait oriented source image, this will be quite a bit more drastic than on a landscape oriented source image.UnfortunatelyThere is no such thing as “the perfect image size” because all your website’s viewers will have different dimensions on their browsers when viewing your website.
However, What we’ve been using on our demo website (for example here http://theme-dutch.com/presents/mowo/#features) is 1920×1080. What you’ll have to consider when looking into the image size you are going to use is this:
- The downside of using large images is that large images generally equal large file sizes. Especially if you’ve got a slow server or your viewer has a slow internet connection this can cause the loading time of your website to increase quite a lot.
- When using small images, they will be stretched to fit the area they need to fit (the fullscreen area). This means that whenever you use small images, the image quality will suffer and they will get more pixelated.
Basically it’s about finding a balance that fits what you think is most important.
———I see the image you’ve added to your latest post was extremely pixelated (and only part of the full image appears to be showing). If that’ possible, I would like to take a look at that page. I might be able to find out why that’s happening.
If you don’t want to add it to the actual website just for this testing purpose, could you perhaps make a new page that has a section with a full-screen landscape background and post a link towards it? you won’t have to add it to the menu.Kind regards,
