HI!
I have the following problems with the CESARE Theme in combination with WordPress 3.4.
1. the thumbnails don’t appear. I read the manual AND I installed the dummy content. 2. I found out that it’s not possible to work with this theme in Firefox. Some functions don’t work anymore when this theme is activated (picture upload, display of the 2nd level navigation bar) So I have to work with Safari, there it’s possible to handle everything.
I registered at your support site but I did’nt receive the confirmation e-mail so far. That’s why I had to post my problems/questions here.
Thanks, Andreas
PS: I’m sure, I work on WordPress 3.4. (http://themeforest.net/item/cesare-wp-full-screen-portfolio-theme/discussion/1951811)
28/01/2013 at 3:48 PM #10422Have you got any plugins installed? If so, to check if it might be a conflict with one of those, please try disabling them all for a moment to see if that changes anything.

28/01/2013 at 4:01 PM #10423Hi, I haven’t installed any plugins! Only the theme and the dummy content. Kind regards, Andreas
30/01/2013 at 10:12 AM #10455Hi Andreas,
I’ve checked Cesare on Firefox: http://theme-dutch.com/presents/cesare/
The thumbs work fine. This must be caused by something else. Do you run on the latest version of firefox?30/01/2013 at 10:33 AM #10458Hi Helen, I know, that your theme usually is working but it’s not working on my domain: http://fotos.aunterhuber.com/
I installed WordPress 3.4, the Cesare Theme and the Cesare dummy content but its not working there whether on a MAC with Safari, Firefox (latest version), on the iPad or on a PC with IE, Firefox, Chrome.
And I haven’t installed any other Plugins or Themes… So it’s not clear for me why it’s not working. I already installed everything several times but its not working AND the sumbenus on the Dashboard isn’t working with Firefox.
By the way my system and my browsers are always up to date - I always use the latest version.
If you want to I can give you access to the site so you can see what’s there installed (but then just via e-Mail)
31/01/2013 at 4:05 PM #10493Thumbnails not showing up can often be the cause of faulty permission rights on the uploads folder. Upgrading those to 777 might help for this issue.
The second level menus don’t quite make sense to me yet, have you assigned them properly in appearance -> menus?
31/01/2013 at 4:10 PM #10494The rights are correct (777)
The 2nd level menu on the dashborad in WP isn’t working anymore when this plugin is activated!
02/02/2013 at 4:56 PM #10536Hi Andreas,
I didn’t quite catch that you meant the dashboard menu’s, this is something that often happens when there is a jQuery conflict somewhere. This could also be what’s messing up the thumbnails. Mostly these are conflicts between the theme and a plugin, but since you claim to not have any installed plugins, that wouldn’t make any sense in this case.
I’m not really sure what else could mess with this jQuery of the sub-menus except if your host does not properly support it.
Do you remember anything weird happening during the theme installation? I read you’ve installed the theme multiple times, did you also try downloading a fresh version of the theme? Perhaps something went wrong in the download.

11/02/2013 at 3:40 PM #10664Hi, I installed it several times because I thought that there might has been a problem. But no, I can use othe templates they all work I only have a problem with CESARE - maybe we can arrange that I can get another theme template instead? Thanks, Andreas
12/02/2013 at 1:52 PM #10678Hi Andreas,
Just something I have now come to think of, have you tried adding pictures hosted to your own website to do this? Right now what’s happening is that the website is attempting to create thumbnails from images linked to the theme-dutch website, that might very well be the reason it isn’t working.
18/02/2013 at 7:09 PM #10751Hi,
I installed the dummy content because it didn’t work with my own pictures. The thumbnails were created but it was the same problem like now - the thumbnails weren’t displayed.
Maybe we should better come to an end - can’t you please offer me another template? I payed money for something that I can’t use…
Bye, Andreas

22/04/2013 at 5:57 PM #11422Hi Andreas,
I’m Sorry, I believe the reaction to this post must have slipped through.
Now I went and read back the discussions we’ve had about this but it appears that we haven’t been able to find a bug in the theme’s code causing this. We’ve built numerous websites on cesare without getting this problem which leads us to think it has got to be an issue with your isntallation or host somehow.
Right now we are working on updating several of our themes. Cesare is one on the list of themes we are planning to update, not in progress yet at this point though. Perhaps the update would solve this issue somehow but frankly I am not sure.
