    I got your email re beta testing for Mikmag 3.00 and yes i am available for beta testing. can i test it on a fresh install on a different domain to the one i am using mikmag 2.2 on?

    Thank you so much for taking the time to review my site - positive comments from my peers are very welcome - so I am very pleased you liked it.

    Who knows perhaps one day I’ll make it to the Melbourne Cup and see where the famous Pharlap ran not to mention Black Caviar!

    I have a great grandson of Seabird II and a grandson of Nijinsky in my own stables at home :)

    Are you going to add your website to the showcase?

    I got the gallery to work - after a fashion by inserting the <a href="… as per your instructions above BUT I have been unable to get say 6 gallery images to be strung together in the lightbox so i can scimplhy sroll forward and back through the set . in order to view each image in the lightboox i have to view them all individually - which rather defeats the object of having a gallery. Can you provide the additional code needed to get them to use the next / prev buttons in the lightbox please.

    Also surely if this is meant to be a shortcode which clearly creates the code using [image url… why do we have to delete that and insert our own <a h ref="… code?

    Again this shortcode seems not to be working as the original developer intended.
    Can you please offer some support for this or at the very least tell me if this is being fixed in the upcoming 3.5/6 version we are all waiting for?

    I would remind you that on Themeforest your demo site thumbnail slider shortcode page says quite clearly, that posts from a particular category can be shown in the slider - which is one of the reasons I purchased the theme. Here is the exact wording :

    Thumbnail Slider
    You are here: Home \ Features \ Thumbnail Slider
    Want a slider with the latest posts from a particular category with a thumbnail? This shortcode is right for you. In addition, you can limit the number of posts and the number of words. You can select the background and text color too!

    Please can you confirm that this issue is being addressed in the forthcoming update as this functionality is central to my use of the theme.

    I also asked this question over on another thread where I was having a different problem in the hope i could get both questions answered at the same time. Here’s Kevin’s response on the other thread:

    “I’m afraid that code-based support requests exceed what we can offer as free support. We’ve also been doing quite some recoding on the mikmag theme as well as its framework so getting back to that exact problem would be rather difficult at this point.”

    So that response now begs another question from me…

    If i pay for support will you provide me with the code I need to hack this myself - or not - as clearly there would be no point in paying for support if I am going to get the same answer - no you cannot help me and I should simply to wait for the update.

    If on the other hand paying for one quarter of support is likely to elicit support to enable me to get this fixed quickly, I would gladly pay it.

    Last comment from me today is of course - when is the update coming please?

    Thanks for your response to this question. Yes it was latest post only and not the selected post according to the ID entered. OK I will have to abandon that approach.

    What I really desperately need now is for the carousel to display ONLY the category of posts I select - but there is a bug and it is showing ALL categories in the carousel. I understand this is a bug waiting for the new 3.5 version to come out to fix.

    I am happy to hack the code if you can just tell me what code to change to make the carousel work and show just selected category / categories rather than all as this is now VERY URGENT.

    Pleae can you help me with a code change suggestion?

    Thanks Whitt for your response to my earlier query re this issue. I understand you have had to change theme in order to display only the category you require rather than all categories in the carousel.

    This is not possible for me - my site is live and I am committed to using MikMag.

    Theme Dutch is there any way i can hack the code to display ONLY the category I select in the carousel please. I am happy to go under the covers and change whatever is required as I cannot wait any longer for the new 3.5 version for this to be fixed.

    Hi ThemeDutch and Whitt Madden
    Is there an interim solution for this issue as it is critical for my site that I can isolate individual post categories and only show selected categories in the post carousel rather than all of them. I looked at your site Whitt and from what i can see you have mananged to get the men’s ministry page to only show men’s posts. Did you find a solution or what please?

    If we are reliant on the updated MikMag when will this be available please?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Theme Dutch.

    Many thanks for your reply requesting my url - which is http://punterpromotions.com/ - purely a test site with little content so far

    My first problem listed above now appers to have resolved itself and caused because I changed the site address to use www. whilst the wordpress address did not and this caused a few loginn anomalies in that when i tried to upload images to the slider it kept asking me to login and then rejecting it due to canonical issues - when i got past that issue it then would not allow mne to see the whole image upload form - hiding the top bar where you can select load from a pc / url or media library - i was only able to select an image already showing in the library latest page. Anyway i have now changed the folders back to not use www. for the site address and this issue seems to be fixed - fingers crossed!

    As regards my blurred image resizing issue I see that it is not so much the width as the height of the featured image that seems to be affecting focus issues - they all need to be just 200px high - if i have an image say 750 x 500 it is blurry but if i have a 750 x 200 image it appears in focus. I would have preferred not to be straightjacketed to only a 200px high featured image as it now means i need to upload separate images for the featured thumbnails and another one to show the full size image if i want it to be deeper than 200px. Have you any advice for me here?

    Meantime - have a very Merry Christmas at Theme Dutch…
