The site show up fine in Firefox. It has numerous display errors in Explorer, Chrome, Safari. Could you tell me if there is a setting to change so that the site is responsive to all browsers? Site is http://pro-marketinginc.com/staging/bepoke2be/?page_id=63

    Hi Lisa,

Could you perhaps point out some of these display errors? I’ve been comparing firefox and chrome but must see I haven’t seen much difference yet. It would help me to know what to look for specifically.

Explorer bugs on the following pages: http://pro-marketinginc.com/staging/bepoke2be/?page_id=2 (there is not supposed to be a picture on display in the text feild, but it is making space for one, small white box with red x) / http://pro-marketinginc.com/staging/bepoke2be/?page_id=63 (small white box with red x under picture in content section) / http://pro-marketinginc.com/staging/bepoke2be/?page_id=70 (small white box with red x under picture in content section) / http://pro-marketinginc.com/staging/bepoke2be/?page_id=65 (The margin lines are not correct, they are supposed to box in the information, not be over the information)

Safari bugs: No Pages are not responsive to site. / http://pro-marketinginc.com/staging/bepoke2be/?page_id=2 (there is not supposed to be a picture on display in the text feild, but it is making space for one, small blue box with blue ? ) / http://pro-marketinginc.com/staging/bepoke2be/?page_id=63 (small white box with blue ? under picture in content section) / http://pro-marketinginc.com/staging/bepoke2be/?page_id=70 (small blue box with blue ? under picture in content section) / http://pro-marketinginc.com/staging/bepoke2be/?page_id=65 (The margin lines are not correct, they are supposed to box in the information, not be over the information small blue box with blue ? )

    Hi Lisa.

Beautiful site, kudos to you! Well done!

May I offer a quick fix Lisa?

In your footer after the copyright add the following: Optimized for Firefox. Include a link if you wish for the viewer to update their browser experience to the best.

That will get your customer off your back if they are comparing it on different browsers. For you it will alleviate your stress and what keeps you awake at night. It is acceptable common practice because, you can’t be all things to all people.

We all know Firefox is the web developers favorite, as it is the best. With the advanced Zagetti theme you are using, the other browsers are introducing problem sets of their own making because they are behind the curve. It is not ThemeDutch’s problem nor yours, simply the reality of browsers.

I viewed your site with Waterfox the x64 version of Firefox and it displays perfectly; really nice work Lisa. :)

We all know IE has been a problem child forever with 5 versions in use, all working differently, Chrome and Safari are both unique sitting on different limbs of the development tree with Firefox the love child of designers and developers.

I am sure from looking at your site you demand perfection, rightfully so. I can relate because I expect more as well. We both are singing in the same choir. Gotta love idioms!

What I suggest is a compromise, perhaps not the definitive answer you are looking for. You are at 98% perfection with the remaining 2% becoming the pebble in the shoe.

I have learned nothing is perfect, almost, but never. Chrome is trying to dominate the market with aggressive push tactics, strategically planned and Safari is working hard on their new upcoming version. All browsers have different development agendas with IE simply a problem child.

To fix one, starts something in another, we all know a solution in one area creates new problems in other area. We all have been there. Done that and have the tee shirt to prove it!

That being said, ThemeDutch will have a solution, but today you need a fix in order to move ahead without restriction.

May I make a suggestion? Use a plugin such as WP Super Cache (my favorite) to supercharge your pages.

Don’t let browser idiosyncrasies stop your forward movement or development. On simple themes you never see this challenge, those that are cutting edge like Zagetti, always show limitations in existing browsers. It is clear Fireox is the browser of all browsers.

    Hope this helps :)

    Fantastic work Lisa!

    Hi Lisa,

The images (and squares with X’s and ?’s) seem to all be part of the same problem. Your pages somehow contain images that are being displayed(or unavailable). Exactly where this is coming from, I cannot tell. I don’t believe this could be anything theme-related though as the theme cannot just go and add random images to your page content. Perhaps there are some things around in the visual or text editor somehow.

as for the margin lines, I must say I don’t exactly see anything strange with the margins so I think I’m maybe missing something there.

Lisa, another thought. Try the jQuery Updater http://wordpress.org/plugins/jquery-updater/ as a work around for browser deficiencies.

Thank you so much for your help and thank you for the wonderful compliments. I have done the items you listed and they have all worked.

Is there a way to change the “P font” size above 15? It seems that is the limit.

And last but not least - On the nav the hover is not changing colors on the sub nav under PRODUCTS + “DETAILS OF A BESPOKE SUIT” “CUSTOM SHIRTS & ACCESSORIES” “FABRICS” http://pro-marketinginc.com/staging/bepoke2be/?page_id=117

Thanks again for all of your help!

Hi Lisa, not sure what you mean by “P” font.

Was the sub nav hover working previously?

    Hi

I think with the P font she means the option to select different font sizes for the paragraphs in the theme options. The selections doesn’t go further than 15. The only way to add more options would be by altering the theme code.

As for the menu, I’m guessing you’re using a plugin for this, right? The menu hovers appear to work properly on our theme’s standard menu but I believe the menu classes etc are different in the altered version.

Yes the “P” is the font size of content. Is that something I can do in the css? If you could tell me where I would be more than happy to make it happen. The client wants it 100% by tomorrow. And - I know, I know, “And”. The semi transparent box where the content goes. I need to make it “more” transparent. Is that something I can change in css or is that in the theme code as well?

I figured out the transparent image. So the only thing standing of me and my glass of wine is the font size:)

    Hi Lisa

Here is a fix for you. Install TinyMCE Advanced: http://wordpress.org/plugins/tinymce-advanced/

In the settings enable Font Size and if you can see the text in the editor then you can resize the font or any font to your hearts delight. :)

I personally like red wine… you owe me a bottle ;)

I will moniter this to see how you make out.
