I was working on things, left and came back ours later and refreshed my admin area page (I was on the NoTime section) to make sure I was still logged in. I was greeted by the wordpress error, “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” I am the only user on the account and the admin account. When I went to the sidebar I noticed the two sections were gone. Logged out and back in again. Still gone. Confused.

Sounds as if your login session timed out there, which wouldn’t quite be a theme-related issue.

Which two sections do you mean were gone? and did you save those before leaving, or could it just be they were never saved and were lost due to a session timeout?

It’s not a session timing out. The sections “NoTime” and “Customize NoTime”. These completely disappeared from the “Appearance” tab. I was no longer able to make any theme customizations. I had to reinstall the theme in order to get them to come back. Does that make sense?

I understand what you saw happening but don’t know how it happened. We’ve never experienced anything like that with any of our themes, as far as I know.

Frankly the only way I could think of to get those two things out of the menu would be by editing the theme’s code or removing files from the theme. None of that can happen from the dashboard.

Something has been changed in the files though, since re-installing the theme cleared the problems away and a re-install only renews the theme files, it doesn’t affect any of the settings.

No clue. I’ll let you know if it happens again.
