    Another issue - if you try to put a featured image in from a Nextgen gallery, it won’t display in Bricks and you’re left wondering what may have gone wrong. A lot of photographers use Nextgen galleries and this problem is one that will leave most people stumped.

    I, like many others here, were lured by the overall look and functionality of James based on the demo.

    After having purchased it, though, I’m less than pleased and, honestly, would ask for a refund if this wasn’t for a client whom I’ve already spent too long customizing this theme.

    Here’s a list of issues:

    1. Font size limitations - 15px for the max menu font size is much too small for many fonts. This should simply be a field where you can enter the font size.

    2. The way backgrounds work is awful. Having to enter the full link for each background image? And then do that for every page you want a background gallery? Let’s put it this way - you can get a FREE plugin, WP-Supersized, that does a better job of displaying backgrounds than what’s in this theme. Options galore, including pulling directly from Nextgen galleries. Did I mention it’s FREE? Maybe you guys should license their code for use in your themes.

    3. The documentation is sorely lacking. Spending time trying to figure out how a premium theme works because it’s not documented is uncool. Developers depend on good documentation to work quickly and, if we’ve paid or had the client pay for a theme, that documentation better be complete.

    4. That annoying video that plays in the dashboard. You made me have to go and find the code to disable it. The very least you could do is set it to not autoplay, FFS.

    The James theme built in options only allow for menu font sizes up to 15px - way too small for certain font families.

    The fix - get the My Custom CSS plugin, install and activate it, then go to the My Custom CSS menu on the left of your Dashboard and put this into the field:

    .menu-header a {

    font-size: 20px !importan;

    }

    Change the font size number to one to your liking.

    Remove this bit of code from Theme Function (functions.php)

    <iframe src=”http://www.theme-dutch.com/advertise&#8221; width=”100%” height=”100%” style=”margin: 0px; padding:0px;”>

    and the trailing </iframe>

    You can replace the ‘your browser doesn’t support iframes’ text if you like.
