    Hi there,

Appears there are quite a few questions on the layer slider but I didnt find my issue addressed here. I’ve got one set up. Adding layers, timings, delays, HTML, images, shortcodes, etc. However, No matter which transition style I choose I just get a basic slide in from left or right, top or bottom. I can’t get any of the more interesting transition options to work. I’ve cleared my cache repeatedly. I hope you can help.

Current slider can be seen at cuatrocubo.com

    Thank you,

    Seth

    Hi Seth,

The move effect mostly affects the way in which the speed of the transition is handled. Example: when choosing a slide in from the left transition, and using a linear effect, the slide will slide in with a constant speed. When using a quadratic effect though, the speed will increase over time making the image slide in faster and faster.

    I hope that makes sense.

    Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your response. In your Freeze demo there are some notable effects: First slide fades in and has color blocks that jitter prior to exit, second slide has text that fades as it slides out, fourth slide has an image of a woman that fades in then bounces slightly. How then were these animations created if not with the in/out move effects?

I was under the impression that the in/out move effect was similar to the animation effects in Keynote or Powerpoint.

    Seth.

    G’Day.

Yes, the LayerSlider is a very complex plugin.

I just set up a test slider, using Freeze, to see where I could help you, and have the same issues as you have described. It would appear that the version of the Plugin that is included with this theme does’t support all the options, although they are available to be chosen.

I’ve used the Plugin as a standalone in other themes and it has worked quite well. Although having said that I also have a liking for the new Revolution Slider that many theme developers are now incorporating.

So, I don’t think there is any way around your issue. Hopeffully when the updated version of Freeze is released, that is compatiable with WordPress v3.5.x, that the version of the Layer Slider is also updated as I note that the (standalone verison) plugin was updated earlier this month.

    Cheers,

    Hi Windycityfella,

Thanks for the helpful response. We shall see what comes of this. The slider, as it was shown in the product demo, was the major deciding factor in my purchase. I’ve also paid for additional customization.

I’d hope that nobody would put out a product demo that includes features not actually available on the product. That would be dishonest advertising in my world view.

    Fingers crossed,

    Hi again Windy…

Curious what you mean by, “available to be chosen.” Care to enlighten me? You seem to know a lot about this. You should be handing out cards here. :)

    Hi Sethhill,

Could you link me to the pages you mean that you saw in the demo http://www.theme-dutch.com/presents/freeze ?

If I know what slide you mean I can go check back-end to see exactly how that has been created, I’d like to look into this a bit further for you.

    Hey Kevin,

Thanks for the assistance. I found you guys here through Mojo-Themes:

    Hi,

That was very clear, thank you

I’ve added three screenshots that show the exact settings on those three slides for you. Here are the things I believe are causing the effects (it appears to most- often be a combination of the main slide effect with the layer effect). Note we are using a background at the very top of the slider settings, and haven’t selected any backgrounds for our separate slides.

Slide 1: The bounce in-out effect we used on those blocks cause it to not fly out straight away but first go down a bit.

Slide 2: The text fading off has been set in the in/out transition of that layer, the reason it slides out simultaneously is because the durations and delays of the slide and the layer cause both the layer’s fade effect and the slide’s sliding effect to happen at the same time.

Slide 4: The lady bouncing in is the in-out back effect set on the layer.

    Hope it helps

    Kevin

    Kevin,

THIS is super helpful. Great that you have it out in your documentation now too. I’ll play with these setting a bit more today as I build more slides.

When I’ve set a background in the slider settings, no matter the dimension, it tiles. I’ve gone from 1140 px wide to 1900 px wide. I’ll see what these results yield, thank you for your efforts on this.

    Take care,

    Seth
