The Sidebar & Widget Manager v2.12 for WordPress does not work with Mikmag as it locks up the widget pages and interferes with MikMag side bar creation.

This discovery was made after a clean install of WP 3.6-beta3-24375 which suddenly produced weird java script errors after the update. What I mean by that is, I blew everything off, reset the db, complete fresh install and incrementally reinstalled my favorite plugins to find the culprit.

Viola! There it was, guilty and red faced as a child caught with hands in the cookie jar, Sidebar & Widget Manager v2.12 behaving badly.

The Mikmag custom side bars now appear to be functioning properly as they should. So what did I do with the customization you ask now the plugin was identified? Simply approached it differently to achieve the desired result.

Onwards and upwards and to all have a great day.

    :)

Close but no cigar! There is a quirk preventing additional custom sidebars. Created two and the third does not populate.

I am sure you have discovered this for yourself and it has been resolved already in preparation of the next release candidate.

    Ciao.

    Hi James,

I’ve created 4 custom sidebars and added one different widget to all of them, then went to activate them one by one on a test page to see if they worked and they did appear to work properly. I’m guessing I might not be doing exactly what you meant. Could give some more details on what the problem is and how to get it?

    Hi Kevin

Thanks for testing this out for me. I thought you must be using 3.5.1 thus reset and reinstalled using the same version.

    Voilà! Side bars work perfectly.

Using 3.6x nightly updates created the issue and in all fairness recognize Mikmag is updated to 3.5.1. The theme responds wonderfully using 3.6x and recognize tweaks are being made for the anomalies as we speak for the upcoming release.

Thanks for your time Kevin, I was getting ahead of myself… love this theme.

    Have a great day.

Sidebar & Widget Manager v2.12 for WordPress works perfectly with 3.5.1. and Mikmag.

My conclusion referred to above is not accurate as the author has not revised it for 3.6.
