Hi I was wondering how you have set up the Home slideshow on the Demo site so that when the page opens the slideshow area is opened to it’s final size with the menu in it’s position at the bottom. On my version when the page loads it takes a second before the first slide loads and so the page comes up with the slideshow area empty and menu at the top causing it to then drop down when the page finishes the load. Looks very choppy.
Also your transition effects between slides have a really nice gradating effect, how are you achieving it? On my slideshow I get just a standard fade in.
Thanks for the help.

Sorry, this topic must have slipped through unnoticed.
What we’ve done with the top of our homepage is use a “slideshow slider” with set height of 800px. A possible reason why your slider might not start at full size could be if you haven’t set the height for it. (see screenshot for our setup). Other then that, all I could really think about that would cause one site to load it right at once and the other not to would be server speed.
Our fade effect might look a little bit different because of our site background image. As you’ll see the moment you load the homepage, it will start with this, bronze/brownish color with a certain brighter part in the center. that’s part of our background image (see screenhot) with a brownish pattern overlay from the slider options on top. During the fades from one slide to the other, that image will show through a bit when the opacity is lower than 100%. Perhaps resulting in the effect you mean.

thanks for you reply!
I actually had the size set originally to 600px but with that option it didn’t adapt to the browser window, meaning if I opened or closed the window the image of the slider would resize keeping the width but leaving in the height an empty space between the menu and image. Once I removed the height the proportions scaled properly but there is this loading issue.
Do you see what I’m saying?
07/03/2013 at 4:23 PM #10958I just tried again to change the height and have the same problem with the empty space.
The way I have it right now is the width set to 100% and the height is blank
08/03/2013 at 2:36 PM #10965Hi Rya,
Would it be possible for you to send me your URL, as well as login credentials to an administrator account via this forum’s private messaging function?
I’d like to take a look at your website and see if I can figure out what’s happening exactly, it’s a little difficult for me to try and find a solution without trying some thigns out and seeing how exactly it’s reacting and what the situation is.

08/03/2013 at 6:28 PM #10970Hi Kevin,
absolutely yes I can give you access, where is the option to send you a Private message? I can also set you up as an Admin on the site, let me know which e-mail address I should use for your login.
Thanks!
09/03/2013 at 12:19 PM #10972Hi Rya,
To the left of my posts here on the forum, you can click on my name. Once you do so, you’ll see an option to send a private message, just click that to write your message.
For the email address you can just use any address of your own if you’d like, I don’t need to do any more than log into the account and try a few things back-end to see if I can find a solution (admin account would be best for that). You could also choose to give me access to an existing account, it’s however you prefer. A URL and login credentials would suffice.
